In this particular case, I feel like there wouldn't be any imprisonment connotations to Connie staying at the Monster's castle (heh, Maheswaran and the Monster). She would choose to stay there voluntarily b/c she can pick up vibes from the Monster that he isn't just, well, a monster. Like, cut the bullshirt here, mister, tell me what your damage is. (also, I feel like other inhabitants of the castle would be the corrupted gems of the show but can talk like how the Beast can talk despite being, well, look at him)
