Thank you.  They're characters in a story I'm working on.  The parents are doctors in a medical research facility in the city of Catlanna, Gargia.  They discover the cure for a plague that's been affecting humans for over 20,000 years.  The names of the cubs are Richard, Victoria, Elizabeth, Edward, Mary, and Anne, from oldest to youngest.

I hope it is.  BTW, there's a theme to the names of the Panthera cubs.  Can you figure it out?

mmm, is it the names of English Royalty? :3

Ding, ding, ding!  You are quite correct.  I hadn't named the younger five when I named Richard.  I gave him that name because he's half-lion so, he's got a lion heart.  After I named him, I decided to go with English Royalty names and tried to come up with lesser known ones like Edward, Mary and Anne.

LOL.  Well, as you probably know, Leo is Lation for lion and lions are called the king of the beasts.  So, it was only natural that I should give the family names of kings and queens.

makes sense!

Oh!  While I'm thinking about it, according to humanimal tradition, Richard would never be called Rick, Victoria would never be called Vicky, etc. by anyone but a lover or spouse.  Even the closest of friends refer to each other by their full names.  That's not to say that a cubs parents wouldn't name their cub Rick or Vicky.  Those would be the names on the "Birth Certificate".

aah, makes sense with the other themes~

Humanimal society is a bit stiff compared to "modern" human society but, they are also looser in some respects.  Certain things that are unacceptable or illegal to us today are acceptable and legal in their society.

Yes.  Besides names, they rarely shorten any word.  For example, we may say phone but they say telephone; we may say TV but they say television and so forth.  For example, a couple of the "unacceptable" things they accept is homosexuality and pornography; prostitution is legal and acceptable.  However, these things aren't encouraged, they're merely accepted as a way of life.

Oh, cool!  I didn't know that.  I'm happy to know that it was exciting for you.  When I post it on my page, I'll give the names and ages so everyone will know who's who here.  Thanks again for accepting this commission and completing it so perfectly.

Oh, while I'm thinking about it, I was looking at your Weasyl page and I believe I saw the previous record for characters in a drawing.  Five.  Plus, the background on that one was DETAILED.  I'm glad I don't put any artist through that kind of work.

This is a big jump! I think that one was actually personal art, so I put myself through it hahaha

Oh, BTW, after looking at this drawing again today, it hit me that Edward and/or Mary is in the wrong position.  Unlike the rest of the cubs, they have a typical older brother/younger sister relationship.  He picks on Mary and Mary hates him for it.  Therefore, Mary likely would have stood as far from Edward as possible.  But, a) it's too late now and b) it still makes for a great portrait.  (Tigresa probably took Edward by the ear and told him to behave himself or suffer the consequences when they got home.  LOL.)

Maybe Tigresa bribed them for the photo LOL

Since I like to think that Tigresa is a typical mother, she probably did.

I'll do that later this week.  Today and tomorrow, I have to work until 9:30 pm so I won't have enough time to upload and caption it until Thursday at the earliest.

Very cool!
Is this some sort of poly family, or is the oldest child full grown?

The eldest child is the male in the blue shirt - he's 21 and the youngest is 2 They just have a lot of kids lol

I see! They also have quite the range of coats!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MviluUatusun In reply to Combak [2018-10-30 09:30:55 +0000 UTC]

Yes, they do.  The father, Dr. Leo Panthera, is the male lion on the upper left and the mother, Dr. Tigresa Panthera, is the more mature looked full tigress holding the baby.  The other six are their cubs ranging in age, as ashkey said, from 21 down to 2.  The variations in coats comes from different possible combinations of colorations I could think of that would include a bit of both parents.  BTW, the cubs aren't ligers they are mixed "race" humanimals.  When I post this to my page, I'll give a brief explanation about the genetics of the humanimal species.
