Description Y is for You

~~

You sighed as you watched girls walk up to Atsumu like he was the last guy on earth. You sat at your seat in the lunch room as daily confessions made their way to Atsumu. He'd just sit there and smile, thanking them but saying no. It bugged you but hey, he was attractive, very attractive and he was an amazing setter if you put aside his hissyfits he has when someone doesn't spike his ball correctly. And... the fact he was rather quite rude to fans when they'd cheer for him, but besides that, he was a very confident person, one that definitely attracts the girls.

"Oh, Atsumu, do you wanna sit with us today?" A girl you recognized from your class bent over the cafeteria table, her button up blouse... not buttoned up... She was pushing up her already big breasts as she gave him a doe-eyed look, her lip gloss making her lips shimmer with her eyes.

His eyes traveled down for a moment, making you roll your eyes but then he turned to you as if asking you if you'd be alright. You shrugged and gave a nod to the girls, saying you didn't care. But, lies. He gave you a smile that melted your heart. "Sure, why not." He flashed them the same smile and stood up, leaving you alone with his brother.

"I don't know why you told him to go." Osamu's voice seemed non emotional as he poked at his food.

"He's a big kid. He can do what he wants." You shrugged, shaking your head and drank out of your juice box. Your eyes wandered over to his for a moment and he was looking at you with a 'Oh come on.' look. "What? Stop looking at me."

"I'm just saying, if you don't want him to go, then tell him not to go." This time he shrugged at you.

"I'm not going to tell him not to go if he wants to."

"The only one telling him to go is you with your head nod and such."

"I... He doesn't have to go. He's the one who gets up. Besides, why would me saying no make him stop anyway?"

"Seriously?" He dead stared at you.

You stopped munching on your food and stared at him. "What?" You muffled out as you widened your eyes and shrugged your shoulders, shaking your head.

"Nothing. Never mind." He brought his head back down to his food and stopped talking for the rest of lunch, leaving you to wallow in your remorse for letting him leave...

That was most days, you'd tell him to go off with some girl or group of girls and then eat lunch alone or with the sourpuss Osamu who scolded you every time he did. but you'd just brush him off. But lately, Atsumu's been asking even more questionably with "Are you sure?" "You don't want me to stay and eat with you?" "Will you be fine alone?" All of which you tell him its fine and he, unbeknownst to you, leaves reluctantly.

Until one day he started flat out telling everyone who asked him no, shocking you.

"You know you can go? I'll be fine here. It's not like eating alone or whatever is new to me." You told him as you poked a straw in your juice box and took a sip.

"I don't want to go."

"But why?"

"Just because."

"Because why?" You kept prodding at him.

"Dude, stop." His voice started to rise, but was that going to stop you?

"But just tell me why?" Nope.

"It's because of yo-!" He was cut off by a tray hitting the table and soon enough, Osamu was sitting down as if he didn't hear any of what was going on.

"That English test is going to kick my ass." He muttered as he stuck a hole in his milk.

You looked over at Atsumu, wondering if he'd finish what he was going to say but he just sighed and rolled his eyes. "Come on, it's going to be easy." He spoke out, completely disregarding your conversation and that put a thorn in your side but you shook it off.

"Yeah? And you think you'll beat 'Samu's score?" You began to tease.

"Hell yeah. You think I'm going to let my brother beat me in something?" And there, his competitive side was beginning to come out.

You all continued conversation until lunch was over and then time had passed and school was over. There was no practice for today so the three of you were on your way home. The perks of living next to each other was great considering most days you didn't have to walk home alone.

"I'm going to head over with Y/N. Let mom know I'll heat up dinner later." Atsumu waved Osamu off but it left you with furrowed eyebrows.

"Not that I mind, but why are you inviting yourself over?" You tightened your hold on your bag as you walked up to your house.

"Well, to be fair, aren't I always invited over?" He gave a sly grin and nudged your shoulder with his arm.

"Well, I mean, I guess so." You shrugged and unlocked your door.

You both walked inside and you placed your bag in the mudroom, took your shoes off and unraveled your scarf. Atsumu did the same before he joined you in the living room. "Where are your parents?"

"They should be home from work in about an hour? Why?" You questioned as you grabbed the remote for the T.V off the table.

This time he shrugged as he kicked back and placed his feet on the coffee table. "Just wondering. Hadn't seen them in a while."

"Ah, well, yeah. They're shifts haven't changed though? They've always been scheduled late."

"Well, to be fair, we aren't ever home until after 6 or 7."

"True." You agreed. You managed Inarizaki's Volleyball team so you never left until the twins left, so yeah, you were home late most nights. "Anyway, seeing as how you're here. Anything you want to watch?" You asked as you fiddled with the remote.

"I don't care. I just wanted to hang out." He leaned back further into the couch.

"Speaking of..." You placed the remote down and turned to look at him, he in return furrowed his eyebrows. "Lately, you've been acting stranger. Well, stranger than normal." You teased and laughed lightly. You could noticeably see him getting antsy which was definitely something he never did. It was as if he was getting nervous. "Is something wrong?" Your demeanor changed as you looked at him with some worry.

His hooded eyes looked at you with some hidden emotion behind them. "I just, may have realized something too late is all." He shrugged and turned his attention back to the Netflix screen that changed through different title screens.

You shifted in your seat so that you were facing him completely, your legs crisscrossed on the couch. Leaning in, you eyed him. "Does it have something to do with what you were trying to say to me at lunch today?"

His eyes flicked back to yours as he watched you with uncertainty. "It might. But what does it matter? I was stupid anyway and I took to long so... It's fine."

"But is it bothering you? Is there something I can do to help?" You again, leaned in closer and your heart was racing but you needed him to know he could talk to you, no matter what it is. Even if it does fry your heart to be so close to him, you did it anyway.

"I..." He sighed out heavily. "You have to promise me that this won't ruin our friendship..."

You laughed out lightly. "What? Did you steal my bra's and underwear in middle school or something?"

"No! Oh, wait... well, maybe once... But it was for a dare! I swear!" His cheeks began to lighten up with a dull shade of pink.

"Wait, seriously?" You began to laugh even more. Surprisingly, it didn't really bother you, you both grew up together in underwear and what not. It maybe not have been passed the age of 4, but still. "But, I promise. I just want to know what's wrong."

"You." He spoke out really fast. So fast that it completely caught you off guard and you just sat there with a dumb look on your face, letting out a "huh?" He sighed again. "It's you who... is bothering me."

You furrowed your eyebrows and his words soaked into your mind. "I'm... bothering you? If I was bothering you, why'd you stay with me at lunch? Hell, why'd you even come over?" Your voice began to rise slightly.

"No wait, that's not what I meant. At all." He tried extinguishing your raging thoughts, and it kind of worked, you slowed your roll. "I mean... Okay." He breathed out, fiddling with his fingers a bit. "I'm just stupid because I tried looking for relationships with people like who were funny and smart... people who had a sense of humor like you. Someone who could make me smile in any situations or someone who could talk me down from stupid decisions. I was looking for someone like you, someone who had all the characteristics as you but never looked at you..." He scratched the back of his neck and looked away, placing his feet on the ground and his elbows propped on his knees with is head in his hands.

"I um, okay, and...?" Your eyebrows lifted as you looked at his head, noticing the way the his fringe fell over his hands.

"What I'm getting at is..." He sighed out and brought his gaze back to yours. His hand raised and it was a tad bit shaky as it touched your face making your heart skip beats. "All this time I was looking for someone like you because I couldn't come to terms that... that I had fallen in love with you." He eyes were sincere as he looked into yours.

You blinked a few times, taking in his words as your mind became fuzzy. "I, uh, you couldn't... come to terms with it? Wh-what does that mean?"

"You're... you're one of my best friends, it was just... It doesn't matter. I should have know it was only ever going to be you. There is no way that I'd ever find anyone like you." He chuckled dryly. "Yeah, that's a joke. Anyone being better than you."

You couldn't say anything, you just watched him watch you, a light pink dusting your cheek. You couldn't move either as your heart raced out of control. You never expected Atsumu to relay the same feelings back at you, but here he was, confessing himself to you while you just stood there like a deer in the head lights.

"P-please say something?" His normal confident demeanor seemed to be crumbling more and more the longer you stayed silent.

You began shaking your head, giving him a negative response but that's not how you meant for it to come off. You just tried to gather your thoughts, gather your words.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say anything. I didn't want to say anything. Just forget it." He sputtered out and stood up, heading to the door. "I'll go, I'm sorry."

"Wa-wait!" You yelled out to him and jumped off the couch, running up to him. "Hold on. I..." You stopped in front of him, grabbing his hand as you did so. "Stay for dinner. Please. We can... talk more. Because for me... it's you too."

His eyes widened with slight shock and instantly he tightened his hold on your hand and pulled you into him, capturing your lips faster than you could blink but your eyes closed right away as the feeling from the kiss sparked inside your veins. Its was quick and simple but it left you breathless.

"I um sorry... had to do that. But yes, I'll stay for dinner." He spoke out quickly and then made his way back to the couch, plopping himself down and waiting for you. You chuckled lightly, touching your lips with your fingers and shook your head, surprised at the sudden contact but continued towards the couch.

I don't know why but I kind of thought the parents were going to open the door while they were kissing. Thank God it didn't happen 😂
