"Awwwh, thank you so much." Oikawa would smile and say that line every single time a girl came up to him with chocolates.
It was Valentine's Day. Iwaizumi's most hated holiday for one huge reason. It'd be the day where Oikawa and his fangirls were extra annoying. If you thought it was bad before with the constant nagging and fawning from the girls in the school, this day was even worse with everyone fighting over getting the best reaction and giving the greatest chocolate to Oikawa.
It was a day that made Iwa the most grumpy. His hand was tight around the strap of his bag and his mind raced, going back and forth to the chocolates he had in his bag and the array of girls that kept bombarding the famous setter. He was grumbling under his breath as Oikawa kept going on and on about the chocolates he'd been receiving.
"You know, these chocolates are great and all, and I've gotten sooooo many, but I still haven't gotten one from the person I like yet." His pout was clearly visible as he looked at Iwaizumi.
"Well, maybe with all the girls around, she's intimidated to even try and approach you." He muttered out and anyone could tell he was massively annoyed, his mind going back to the gift he had in his bag. Grumbling again, "Just go to class." He shook his head and walked away from the brunette, a sulk completely visible but Oikawa figured he was just really annoyed with him and the girls.
"Well, I'll see you for lunch Iwa-chan!" He waved but it's not like the boy saw it from behind his head. Oikawa pursed his lips and pouted as his eyes watched his best friend walk away.
Lunch came around and the same thing was happening as it did in the morning. Girls bombarding Oikawa left and right as he tried eating his lunch. He hadn't even gotten two bites into his food and Matsu, Makki and Iwa were already basically done.
Thankfully for Oikawa, Matsukawa spoke out to the girls. "Girls, leave him alone for lunch. He's barely eaten."
"Oh no! That's not good! You need to eat and be well nourished for practice today!" The girls started to panic and they dispersed, leaving the 4 of them alone and finally at peace.
"Thank you so much Mattsun." Oikawa sighed out but kept his voice perky.
He just shrugged and then Hanamaki spoke up. "So, all these girls. Has your crush come up yet?"
The question caught Oikawa off guard as he put some food in his mouth. His eyes flicked to Iwaizumi's quickly then back down to the table. He swallowed and finally responded. "No, they haven't." His pout was visible.
"Well, they better do it soon because you're being rather annoying about it." Matsukawa spoke out.
"Heyyyy." He pouted again, giving Matsu a childish look.
"Atleast you still have half the day left." Makki shrugged.
"Great." Iwaizumi muttered and got up from the table and left. Leaving Oikawa with his eyes trailing him, Matsukawa shrugging considering his attitude wasn't anything new and Makki was watching Oikawa watch Iwa.
The day went on, chocolates upon chocolates piling up in Oikawa's hands during breaks and whatnot. It was a surprise that he was able to fit it all in his locker.
During study, Iwaizumi went into Oikawa's classroom like he always did and sat himselfdown on Oikawa's desk with his feet on the chair in front of him so his back was to Oikawa.
Oikawa was sat at his desk as he closed his notebook, looking at Iwaizumi and talking and talking like he normally did, annoying Iwaizumi. He talked about his day, but for once, the brunette didn't bring up his crush. Oikawa went silent and Iwa took it as his chance. He gulped as he pulled a small red velvet box out of his bag. Twisting it around in his hands he softly spoke out. "Oikawa..." Iwa propped his head on his palm, elbow on his bent knee and his other arm went behind his back, present in hand.
Oikawa's eyes widened, mainly at the fact that Iwaizumi actually said his name, a good part was because of the present in his hand. The notebook he was holding made his way up to his mouth as it fell open in shock. "Oi. Shittykawa." Well, that didn't last long... "Are you going to take it or not? It may not be the one you wanted..." His voice lowered but it was still loud enough for just Oikawa to hear. "But I wanted to give you this."
Oikawa's eyes were still wide and his heart was flipping like crazy. "No, it's just the one I wanted." He smiled as he grabbed the present from the latter's hand.
Iwaizumi turned quickly in his spot, wide eyes staring at the boy before him but Oikawa had quickly gotten out of his seat before he turned fully. The setter's lips landed on the ace's for a quick kiss. Oikawa's face was bright with a smile as he watched the boy he liked erupt with a blush and turn quickly back around. Iwaizumi was sitting there like a blushing mess while Oikawa opened the chocolates and plopped on in his mouth.
"Mmmm, delicious~!" Oikawa sang out.
"D-don't eat to much, Stupidkawa. You don't want to get sick and I don't want to have to take care of you." Iwaizumi sputtered out, turning slightly to look at the boy who had the largest smile.
"Don't worry Iwa-chan! This is the only piece of chocolate I had all day. It's the only one I care about. I'm going to give the other ones I got to the team after practice." He tilted his head, looking at his ace with a happy look, taking in his now favorite sight. A blushing Iwaizumi.
