I really like your nebula, the colors you used are really nice and I think that overall it turned out great! I also like the way that the stars are kind of clustered instead of evenly scattered, and have a good range of magnitudes which is something I don't see a lot in space art. So good job on that! The main problem is that overall, the nebula looks flat. The tutorial you were using is really good, but it's also for galaxies! As an astronomy major I can tell you that those two things are fundamentally different. A nebula, instead of a collection of stars, planets, etc is a collection of interstellar dust that's being bound together by its own gravity! So unlike a galaxy which IS flat, a nebula is more like a cloud. So to make your nebula more like a nebula, you could add some more depth having some drastic lighting taking place inside the nebula. And then layer that with some lighter areas on top to give a look that not only has more depth, but looks significantly more cloud-like. I hope that made sense in writing -_-
I also really like the brushes you used! It gives the painting a nice textured feel and the edges almost look fractal! So while it doesn't exactly mirror a nebula per say, it's a good general space painting and you should keep up the good work!
