Bio:
Crystal is a sweet but feisty mare who’s an absolute giant by any standards. As the daughter of the largest Clydesdale and a rock farm pony, Crys has her father’s height and bulk with all of her mother’s Earth pony strength in her flanks. She’s a gentle giant because she has to be; as much as she would love to get down and get rowdy, she learned early on how easily she could bring down a barn’s walls with a few hard stomps. She puts her overflowing energy to good use in the rodeo though. Her favorite events are cow herding and lasso tricks, but everything else is still second nature for her. Surprisingly agile and quick in her movements, she’s only prone to accidents because of her size, not because of klutziness. These are all hobbies though. Her real talent is in crystal and ice sculpture, which she excels at.

Relationships:
Crys is close with both of her parents, although she speaks a great deal more than the both of her shy parents combined. She has a lot of respect towards her parents and elders and tends to want to please those older and wiser than her. Crys is very responsible and straight-laced and always finishes her chores early so she can take on extra work. She used to be upset that Marble lived so far in her rock farm, but once they all started living together in Appleloosa, she was a lot happier.

Crys doesn’t see the rest of the group too often, only on the occasions that Marble brings the whole family to Pinkie’s place in Ponyville for the holiday reunions. However, as she got older and developed her skills and interest in other places, she realized that there was a lot more business in crystalling and ice sculpture in Ponyville and the Crystal Empire as opposed to her small town. She studies Crystalling in the Empire during study trips when she reaches 17, and hopes to one day be a royal crystaller. She wants to move to the Crystal Empire when she has enough saved.

Crys isn’t too familiar with the others, but she does see her cousins Sugar Rush, Connie, and Rainy when the families visit each other. She thinks they are “small and excitable little fellers.” She and Connie have had the most conversations and are comfortable spending the day together, even though both are terrible at each other’s talents. Connie adores Crys as an older sister and likes climbing onto the huge mare’s back for naps.

During one of the “Apple Pie Family Reunions” in which the Pie family meets with the Apple family for a big holiday hoedown party, Crys met Honeyglow and Cinnamon Roll. Honeyglow is immediately smitten and develops a huge crush on her, but unfortunately, she only has eyes for his cousin, Cinnamon (also, I keep the Apples and Pies separated. They aren’t related by blood or any family ties, but they do have a close relation and I think the idea and episode were super cute so I’m keeping this as a tradition they carry out, like as honorary family members).

Cutie Mark/Special Abilities: Obviously Crys is gonna be crazy strong and can knock down a stack of hay bales to the ground in the time it takes to whistle a tune. Even with her inherent strength and amazing agility, she never develops more than a general interest for the rodeo life. It’s definitely a hobby. Her real passion lies in the delicate art of ice and crystal and sculpting, and she’s awesome at it. She studies it professionally and wants to move out of Appleloosa to Ponyville or the Crystal Empire where she would really be able to open up shop.
