In time for Halloween, I've managed to do an illustration for one of my "original" species: the Baluari. The species was inspired by a Halloween decoration, so only fair they show up this spooky time of year. You can read more about them here.This was inspired by the Inktober Writer's Gauntlet on World Anvil. Prompt 18: Poison. Brain went straight to my original poisonous/venomous kitty cats.

"While Baluari themselves have shown a resistance to most diseases that claim the lives of their relatives, they are extremely well known for the “fever” that results from their venom. Unlike cat scratch disease, “scratch cat fever” has no cure. Due to the Baluari often being mistaken for the common cat, victims rarely know they are infected until the symptoms, which include fever, headache, impaired vision and eventually paralysis, appear. Symptoms begin to show within 24 hours and lead to death within 48." - the article

Indeed. Though I suppose if they don't scratch you, they're harmless. Still, I wouldn't suggest them as a pet.
