They can't - she was never tame, but still too used to humans to live in the wild again. That's why she had to stay with us at the wildlife rescue/rehab center instead of being let go.

Here's the story about Vixy that I posted on the first picture of her I submitted:
Here's Vixy! I hate to play favorites, but I must say that this little red fox was my favorite animal at the Academy. Vixy was rescued as a kit by an elderly woman. There had been a really bad flood, and Vixy's den had been washed away and her entire family drowned. The woman nursed Vixy back to health by herself, but as Vixy got older, she became too much for the lady to handle, so she turned the fiesty little fox into us. Also Vixy is very hyper and would not make a good pet, she is so sweet! She is very tame and loves to play. After closing hours at the museum, we would take her out and let her play in the hallways.
