well, i know photoshop can do this effect .. but what i'm trying to express is the mood and some tad of surrealism in realism. I don't do this often, but will still use the effect for artistic purposes.

for the adidas ads, I did use point-blurring to emphasize on the clothings/apparel, and to minimize focal confusion.

Yeah. It can be usefull especially for ads and so on.
It was just my personal opinion, that i usually dislike such manipulations.
I think photography isn't "honest" or true anymore...
There are just too many pictures out there with like 2 Kilogramm of Photoshop on them. Not yours, usually. Other "photographers", and it just makes me kinda sad.

well, i'll have to agree, i'm not in manipulations, however there will be times where application requires.
Anyway to me, I dun regard my works as just mainstream photography, but as an art piece, where i convey to people, my mind and messages that I have to say. I do respect strict technical knowledge and execution, but i guess it is how I want to project my thoughts, in a rather artistic manner.
I believe one should truly try to define one's work before further technical analysis, and surface critique. Sometimes a photographer might not be good technically, but then, it is the IDEA in the images that means something to him/her.
Cheer up mate, let's broaden our mindsets, and appreciate what others have in store for us
