I was in the back seat of a 2-seat BAC Jaguar which was acting as "whipper-in" for this formation and another one of 16 Jaguars (which I'll post in a while. If look (currently) on p12 of my gallery you an see the shots from the formation take-off run.

Not what you might have thinking. It's an old term from the good old English sport of fox hunting, the man who keeps the hounds under control. In aviation-speak it's a spare aircraft which checks to see everyone is properly spaced in formation before the final flypast run.
