I was nervous when i felt him pull me forward, but anxiety melted as i felt the familiar warmth of his chest pressed onto mine. I could tell my face was still red from my flustered reaction to his question, but i didn’t try to hide it; i knew my blush always seems to please him. Yet it was unlike him to request such a thing as this, though i don’t believe i could complain. I breathed in slowly, regaining my thoughts and bringing my head back up to meet his eyes. He was smiling at me - which couldn’t have helped the pink spreading across my face - and his gaze was gentle and calm. I couldn’t help but smile back, which is no surprise considering how often i do it, but it seemed all the more genuine when his expression was the same. So i felt myself relax into his hold and nod my head in response to his previous request:

“Dance with me?”

I had never danced before, but i honestly doubt that he had much more practice than i could have. Yet he seemed so sure of himself, and i went along with it. His smile remained plastered onto his face as he leaned in close to me to tenderly place a kiss to my forehead. I felt my lips twitch into a wider grin, and i was sure i blushed more considering the satisfaction his expression held as he pulled back, slowly closing his eyes. He sighed contently before opening them again, then nodded his head as i felt his hand move down my back to grasp at my own. He interlocked our fingers, then carefully raised our arms while trailing his free hand down to hold my waist. Perhaps he knew more of dancing than i thought.

I remained rather still, unsure of what he wanted me to do - i had never been so close to someone like this and i did not want to mess anything up. He could read the apprehension on my face and offered another kind smile to me. I felt my grip on his shoulder tighten, as if holding him would keep that gentle expression there, allowing it to stir at my emotions longer.

He took a small step to the right, guiding me with his arm and a tilt of the head. I found it easy to follow his actions, but i kept my movements small; i was afraid to do something wrong. He seemed displeased by the fact and tilted my head up, red eyes clearly reflecting the insecurity in my own. He leaned close, keeping his voice at a whisper, his tone strangely upbeat:

“Just relax and follow the music~”

I stared at him for a moment, ear twitching as i wondered what tune i was supposed to be hearing. However, before i could ask, he replied with a light hum. He kept a soothing note, occasionally allowing the pitch to fluctuate and to create a slow pattern. My uneasiness melted away with the sound and it wasn’t long before i found myself humming his new song along with him. My head rested onto his chest as i felt my body sway in response to each change of pitch - our movement was in harmony with the tune, and his heart became the beat. My face flushed and my mind soared; i was no longer able to comprehend my surroundings. All i could sense was his touch, his heart, and his love.

This was no longer a dance...

...but an eternal embrace.
