Description
After a new Director became the head of the Institute in his (or her? Noone knows for sure) own right, the first thing he did was a massive reform plan of organization's defense capabilities.

First, the SRB (Synth Retention Bureau) was reformed into an actual Armed Forces with subdivisions of Army and Navy, with Air Force creation being in plans for the future. Ayo remained in a position of the division head with the rank of 3-star general.

Second, the Advanced Systems focused on new weapon researches, because older Institute weapons proved themselves to be even inferrior to the pre-war lasers. They were also shifted to newer designs for body armor, finally applying camo to the synth uniforms (as sticking in white robes makes a trooper little more then target practice pop-up). More to it, the ASD started production of their own version of X-1 powered armor, as a serial model designated as T-72i (I stands for Institute).

And third, Biolabs restarted their genetic engeneeirng and FEV research programs, developing new breeds of bio-warriors, surpassing even those of the "Master's" army of the West Coast; the new models of mutants, a human and deathclaw hybrids, intelligent and able to carry weapons, but also as agile and strong as their "feral" counterparts, extremely fast and flexible unlike bulkier super-mutants.
