There's like 684 of them, the story line has gotten much better theirs not just an adventure but more of a story. Anyway my favorite is leafeon (a leaf fox) and blazeikin ( a tall fire chicken w/ long blonde hair)

Oh...I never really watched the show on a regular basis, nor did I play the card game or video game. I was only aware of it because the other kids were into it. I only knew of SOME of the pokemon, mostly the cute ones, and that's how I knew of Vulpix.
