It's made of tufts of fur that grow on trees for some reason. It isn't capable of desire. What did you do with the rest of the tree seeds anyways? Couldn't you have planted them? That would have given you more trees, which I have renamed "Polyporus follicus" / "Polyporus giganticus" .

Well, I'm gonna explain it anyways. You see,trees do not have tufts of fur. They have leaves. Therefore, the tree is most likely a type of fungus. It uses multiple spores to reproduce, thus the genus "Polyporus." There are two variations, one being "Polyporus follicus" and "Polyporus giganticus". The first because of it's hair-like protrusions, and the other because of it's large size. If it so turns out to be a fungus, it will be the largest species on record.
