What's funny to me is that,
I rarely(If ever) draw him actually swinging his hammer and fighting kirby.
My drawings usually have him just sitting around.

I think the reason I don't draw Dedede with his hammer or trying to fight is because his hammer is difficult to draw. I'm not good at drawing weapons.

That stinking hammer is a pain in the ass to draw.
Especially when trying to work with the perspective.
(Trying to draw Masked Dedede's hammer was a complete nightmare for me.)
