Yeah, I think the best part of them is how well you use color to your advantage.
You know what shades of colors work well together.
Meanwhile mosta my characters either have drab colors or ALL THE COLORS!

And I gotcha, it all depends on the natural colors of the bugs while matching them up with clothing that would pair nicely with how they would dress. Though it all depends on the character traits and personality with that as well.
And to be fair, I like those colors on your characters, they're pleasing to the eye!

LEMMYYYY ;;w; My chin dagger adorning lousy excuse of a villain gone protag. <33 I'm actually surprised by the way you drew him more human looking! I never did show his human form (the form he's always been shown as is stubby looking and cube-headed in a literal sense due to plot shenanigans!) but this is REALLY disturbingly close to what I had in mind! Although I feel bad to say the thing behind his back isn't a backpack, but a mini-cape! ;A; (Although I don't mind the backpack at all, at least now he's got something to put his belongings rather than something he bought at a souvenir store to look cool! it makes him look more dorky if anything) I still love it regardless! ;;w;;
I also can't help laughing at his cute little pot belly there aww, it goes well with his lazy attitude <3

At first I thought it was a ponytail because the color
of the cape was the same color as his hair.
Then I thought it was a backpack...
but then realized he didn't have straps near his shoulders.
But I was too far into the sketch to change it so,

Also, I just realized I rarely ever draw characters with stubby hands or legs.
I try to make it as realistic as my style allows.
I have NO IDEA why,
but whenever I try to draw stubby or Chibi proportions,
it just looks HORRIBLY off to me.

Me? I just fart out whatever comes in my head into my hard drive with the help of my pen! Honestly, I kinda wish I could draw more realistically (anatomy wise and all that stuff), but I always end up falling in the cute-art chibi-like area. I guess that's ingrained in me since my Hamtaro days so I kind of embrace it while appreciating other peoples' more realistic attempts.

Stubby or not stubby, I still love your version of Lemmy, you're doing far more with him than I am with him <33 Also, that backpack's canon now, he appreciates it as a gift. Naddy also appreciates the haircut you did to her, she loves it

Well for anatomy,
sometimes I look up a random stock pose and draw a character based on that pose.
That and speed gesture sketching kinda helps with that too.
(Even though I'm not exactly the best at anatomy myself, I try to keep at it because I can't go fully cartoony ham.
Funnily enough my inspiration to start drawing in the first place were shows like
"The Fairly OddParents"
and
"Spongebob"
XD)
