Description woohoo, fixed it.
anyways, now it's not a huge blur. ew.
SO yessum, as the title suggests, this is for Frisket's contest, of her character Sutra. She said not many see her softer side, so I thought I'd try that aspect out. Don't ask me why theres birds, but I modeled them after a type of oriental bird, caerulean paradise-flycatcher.
The background and the cage kindof went to shit i think, but i guess I rushed those, oh well.
This didnt come out quite as dynamic as i wanted it to, but I think getting a better hand with watercolours, so at least I got to practice that.
Used watercolour and pencil crayon on illustration board.

Man, that's a big picture. But I really like how it's done. It looks so soft and natural. I think that's what I want to say. I dunno, I'm not much of an "art buff". Or whatever. But yeah, I like it.

Beautiful you have extreme talents with water colors. It is nice to see sutra's softer side.

One other thing is I love not only the hands, but how you used strict colors and shapes to give meaning to the object you're drawing - like the trees, leaves, n' birds n' their cage. Gives it a Japanese Calligraphy-esque look

Thanks for noting me about this! -- Wow. You are definitely skilled in watercolors (aren't they fun? One of the few traditional medias I use now of days) You got a lot of great pigments n' mixes going on! -- I'm just as intrigued bout the birds... Never have heard of cerulean paradise-flycatchers, but they seem gorgeous! I'll have to look them up later.
But this truly is an awesome piece (I'm surprised I'm the first to comment on this. Ha. ) ..But this is really wicked. I love the pose and interaction between not only the birds and Sutra, but the background. I love how you used reds, corals and pinks instead of blues and greens - I think it brings the image a warmth, and a lets the birds stand out a bit better. Very awesome work! Thank you so much

I'll add this up ASAP
