Here's a reference sheet of a new gemsona OC of mine, Opalite.

Name: Opalite
Gender: Female
Age: ???
Gem location: Chest
Affiliation: formerly Homeworld, currently Crystal Gems/neutral
Weapon/Power: Light manipulation/glowing -> She can make herself glow, typically only in her palms/fingertips. But if provoked, she can sometimes produce a bright flash to temporarily blind others. As far as an actual weapon, she has none that she knows of.
Ocupation: Entertainer
History: Much like Amethysts, Opalites were formed in Kindergartens on Earth to be put to use on Homeworld later. Opalites were originally intended to replace Pearls as better assistants, but it was soon discovered that Opalites were weak, emotional Gems that shattered easily. Because Homeworld spent so many resources on creating the first (and final) batch of Opalites, they put them to work as entertainers. Court jesters, of sorts. Their dramatic attitudes ended up being perfect for entertaining the higher-ups, via dancing, singing, acrobatics, theater, etc. This worked for a while until the attitude towards Opalites changed and they became viewed as being annoying and flaky. Many Opalites were shattered, many others went into hiding. This Opalite managed to flee on a ship heading to Earth, only allowed on board after letting one of the other Gems to poof her so she wouldn't be too distracting during the voyage. When the ship hit the Earth's atmosphere it burned up and exploded, flinging all the Gems -- all poofed now -- to different spots on Earth. Opalite managed to land on the beach outside Beach City and was found by the Crystal Gems after she reformed.

She idolizes Pearl and the others and desperately wants to be a part of their cause, partly because they treat her kindly. (Although Pearl is a little weirded out by the way Opalite follows her around.)

She is quite useless at fighting, too skittish to handle a weapon properly as of right now. But she will gladly offer her entertainment to others, only if she gets praised afterwards. She is delighted at Steven's musicianship.

Personality: Opalite is a sensitive, melodramatic, and theatrical Gem that is prone to bursting into tears at criticism (She is perhaps a little bit traumatized by her experience on Homeworld). Earth both excited and confuses her and she reacts very strongly to...everything. She really does love dancing, singing, and theater, but her low self-esteem makes it difficult for her to do it as freely as she would like.
