"Okay, we're next," Sky whispered, patting Rain's neck. He snorted. "Remember, wait till the last jump. Got that? Good." Sky swung into the saddle, double checking the lavender ribbon was still on her show jumping helmet. The temporary teal streaks in her hair should still be there, but she hadn't been able to find another rainbow infinity symbol for her show jumping jacket. Oh well, she had it for Dressage at least.
"Skylar Smith on Reigning Fire and Brimstone," the announcer called out. Sky took a deep breath and let it swoosh out.
Sky nudged Rain through the gate once the previous pair made their exit, both glistening with sweat. The rider - Josh if she remembered correctly - nodded to her.
The pair sailed smoothly over most of the jumps, although the top pole of the second in the only double had almost fallen. As they rounded the corner to the last jump, Sky whispered, "Remember, right as we go over the top. Not sooner!"
