The Blue-Eyed Demon

“Okay, ready?” He said with his crystal in his hand. You and Asuna nodded. You guys all pushed on the door, weapons and crystals ready.

When you entered the room it was too dark to see anything, you guys stayed in your spots but did pan your head around a bit. “There’s nothing in here.” Kirito said.

You to a few steps forward into the darkness, curiosity taking over you. “Wait.” Kirito grabbed your arm. “This could be dangerous.”

You looked back at him. “Don’t worry, I’m not going in to far, and besides, we need to know what sort of boss we are up against. How else are we gonna know how to beat it?”

“Well, it’s just-” Kirito was cut off by the room starting too lit up. The three of you stopped and looked forward. And in there, nothing you have ever seen before came into sight. Asuna clung to Kirito, who clung to you, who had no one to cling to.

The 3 of you ran out of there, screaming your heads off. You guys ran as far as you could, for as long as you could, tell you couldn’t any longer. You guys stopped and took a rest by one the pillars in the dungeon. “That one is gonna be harder to beat.” Asuna said in-between pants.

“Yeah, I did only have the one really big sword but I’m sure it had special attacks.” Kirito said.

“Where gonna have to put tanks in the front row and just keep switching out, just to wear it down.”

“And it wouldn’t hurt to have about 10 shield users.” Kirito said. Asuna stopped and looked at him.

“Shield users’ hun?”

“What? What wrong?”

“You are,” She said. “You’re hiding something aren’t you?”

“What are you talking about?”

“I just realized something. The biggest advantage of having a one handed sword is that you can use a shield too. But you know what? I’ve never seen you use one. I don’t use a shield because it slows down my rapier.”

You started to catch on. “And when I had a sword, I didn’t use a shield ‘cause I thought it looked dumb.” (In a game of life or death, you won’t use a shield because it looks dumb?) Kirito crossed his arms and looked guilty. “And how come you’re not using the sword you got from Liz?”

“Very suspicious…” You and Asuna stared him down.

“Oh well!” You said cheerfully.

“It’s rude to ask people to justify their skills. Since it’s gotten so late, we might as well have lunch here.” She said while taking things out of her inventory.

“Good idea!” You said while you took out a few things.

“R-really?! Did you guys make it yourself?”

“Yeah of course Kirito.” You told him. “But you better take of your gloves before you eat.” You said you and Asuna started arrange things.

“Here you go.” Asuna said as she handed him a sandwich and you handed him a drink.

Kirito took a bite out of the sandwich. “This is amazing! How do you get it to taste so good?”

“Took up a whole year of training and studying.” You said. You and Asuna pulled your all of your cooking, baking and other food based skills out.

“Aincrad has just about everything you need, about 100 different seasonings, and you can make almost anything with the taste generator.” She reached into her basket. “This was made with grogua seed, shugra leaf, and calim water.” She poured some into his hand.

He took a sip. “It’s mayonnaise.”

“And I made this with abilba seed, sag leaves, and ulafish bone.” She gave him some.

“The taste exotically like, soy sauce!”

“And the best for last! Try your drink, made out of ulie water, samee seed, shisa leaves and tamera water.” You said.

Kirito took a sip. “I-it’s… its, Coke Cola!” He said in totally disbelief. “This is amazing, it’s perfect!”

“Thanks Kirito!” You blushed a bit.

“Have you thought about selling this ‘cause you could make a fortune!”

“You think it’s that good?” Asuna blushed too.

Wait, you can’t sell it.” He said while crossing his arms again.

“W-why?” You asked.

“Cause there wouldn’t be any left for me.” You told you in a straight face.

“Oh gezz Kirito.” You said while crossing your arms to.

Asuna sighed. “My god you are so greedy.” After that a group of guys came in. You guys came to your feet and looked ahead to the incoming people.

They where moaning around and looked really tired, one of them looked up. “Hey Kirito! How you doing buddy?”

“Hey Klein, still alive I see.” Kirito said back.

“Well you’re the same as ever.”

You and Asuna watched; Asuna had no idea who he was, you only had the slightest idea. ‘Have I seen him before? Wait, yeah… at Christmas…’ You stopped yourself from digging up to many more bad memories.

“Wait, you’re a solo player, what are you doing with… girls?” He sounded more confused/happy than upset.

“Oh, um… I could have sworn you guys meet before at one of the boss fights. I’ll introduce you. This is Klein from the Furin Kazan guild, and this is (y/n), a solo player, and Asuna from the Knights of the Blood Oath.”

He seemed to black out, Klein wasn’t saying anything, let alone moving. “Hey, say something.” Kirito waved his hand in front of Klein’s face. With cat-like reflexes he moved into a different position. His feet inline, head down, one hand to the side and other in front of him.

“H-hi, I’m Klein. I’m, I’m 21 and single, and looking for a g- ouff!” Kirito cut him off by a good punch in the stomach.

“Boss!” The other five members said in unison. Everything was quiet for a bit, they all surrounded Kirito, Asuna and you. “Wow, are you really that (y/n) and Asuna?!” They said in union again and crowed you two.

Kirito tried to fend them off. “D-don’t worry, there cool. But, I don’t now about Klein.” On que Kline steeped on his foot.

“That for pay back you weasel! Now what are you doing with a girl? Holding out on us are we?”

They started to crowed his and interrogate him about the two girls he was with. You two giggled a bit. “Excuse me, but (y/n), Kirito and I are together ‘causer were sort of in a party together.” Asuna said.

“Hun?” They all said.

“Kirito to you son of a-”

“Wait, it’s not what you think!” Silence clouded the room but was disbanded when the heave sounds of foot steps came into hearing range.

You guys all stopped and looked forward to see the group of men, they walked a bit more before stopping and sitting on the ground, the leader however did not. He walked towards you guys. “I’m with the Aincrad Liberation army. Have you cleared the area up ahead?”

“Yes.” Kirito said.

“Then you need to hand over the map and we will be on are way.” He held out his hand.

Kline jumped to Kirito’s defense. “What? No way! Do you know how much of a pain mapping is?”

“No, it’s fine.” Kirito said while handing over the map to the man.

“Thanks for the corporation.”

“By the way if you where hitting the boss room I wouldn’t recommend it.” You said while looking back at him.

“That’s my decision to make.” He said with out even turning around.

“You can’t storm a boss room when your troops are half dead! I mean look at ‘em!”

“Nonsense! My men are tougher than that! They won’t quiet until I say so! On your feet, c’mon, move!” He ordered them and they got up.

“Oh man, are those guys gonna be okay?” Kline asked.

“I’m sure they know what there doing, they wouldn’t go fight the boss with out checking it first… right?” Asuna asked.

“Well I’m not waiting to find out.” You said you flowed them.

Kirito walked after you. “Maybe we should keep an eye on them anyway.” He said coolly while the rest did the same.

“Asuna, (y/n), I have a favor to ask.” Kline said. Asuna was already with him and you walked up to him quickly. “I know Kirito is hard to talk to, a loner, and addicted to combat, but he’s a good guy, take care of him for me.” He said then bowed.

“Okay, I promise he’s I good hands!” You smiled and Asuna did the same.

~Time skip~

You guys all fought off the last of the monsters (mostly just you, Kirito and Asuna because the rest were stunned by your amazing archery)

“That’s the last one right; the only thing left is the boss room.” Kline said. He was followed by screams.

“(y/n), Asuna!” Kirito said as you two nodded and took off for the boss room. You guys ran as fast as you could. You where the first to reach the room and opened it with out hesitations, and looked to your horror.

They were a mess and the boss had hardly any thing done to his health. “Don’t just stand there, us a teleport crystal!” You yelled at them.

“W-we can’t!” One of them said.

You froze up. “I can’t…” You said to yourself.

~Flash back~

“Cazusan, get out of here!” You yelled to your brother. The boss fight has been getting intense and some players have already have died, and you would be dammed if you would let Cazusan die too.

“I-I can’t (y/n)!” He cried out to you.

“What?!” You turned around to see the blond boy hold out a crystal but nothing happened. You ran to his side. “Just… Just stay next to me!” You said as you pulled him to your side.

“O-okay.” He stuttered out. He did stay at your side for as long as he could. Then reinforcements came and the door opened. You told him to go run for the door, and like that, with one strike from the boss’s sword, his health went from full, to zero.

“Chujitsuna!” You called out to him.

“(y/n)…” Was the last this he said as he busted out into a million tiny blue pieces.

~End flash back~

“I have never heard of this being used into a boss room before.” Asuna said.

You and Kirito have seen this move before.

“The Liberation Army doesn’t know the word retreat! C’mon, keep fighting!” Said the leader.

“There insane.” Kirito said.

“What the hell is going on?!” Kline asked.

“They can’t get out of the boss room, we could go in there and distract the boss, but that’s to dangerous.” Kirito said.

“But, isn’t there something we can do?” Kline asked.

You ran into the boss room, you wouldn’t let anybody die, at least not with out trying. “I’ll get the boss; you guys get them out of here!” You called to them as you shot arrows at the boss.

“Ready, charge!” Said the leader. As the men ran for the Boss.

“Don’t do it!” Kirito said to you and the men.

The boss let out a powerful attack; it hit all the men, but not you. (You where on top of one of the pillars that had fire on them that lit the room up so you could be at a safe distance with out anything hitting you) The Captain got flown across the room toward the door where Kirito, Asuna and Kline where standing.

“Hey, hang on!” Kirito said as he ran to his said.

But he was too late. “I can’t believe it.” Were the last words he said before he died.

Asuna garbed her sword and ran in. Kirito and Kline shortly after.

Asuna attacked the Boss from behind. But the monster turned around to swing at her. You prepared to fire an arrow to block the attack when you relised you had none left. “Crap!” You said as you jumped down and equipped your ax instead.

Asuna got hit and slid across the room. The monster went to stab Asuna but was blocked by Kirito’s sword. “Get out!” He told her.

Kline and Asuna helped every out but you stayed to help Kirito. “You too (y/n)!”

“No Kirito, where in a team remember, and team mates always help each there out! I’ll die trying to save you if I have too, but I won’t leave!” You told him. He smiled and nodded his head.

It had been a while since you have used your Ax, and Kirito seemed to have forgotten how good you where with it. You two switched out a fought for a while. Kirito got hit back by a blow and then he looked around at us. “(y/n), I need 10 seconds, keep him off me!’ He told you.

“Right!” You said as you prepared to fight. You blocked the first attack then knocked him back with a blow from your ax.

“Okay, I’m ready switch out!” He said as you did so.

You guy’s watched in aw. He had two swords in his hands and started to attack the boss. “What sort of skill is that?!’ Kline asked.

You knew what it was, since you had one yourself. “It’s a special skill… It applies to him and only too him, a unique skill that only he has.” You said. You never took your eyes off him for a second; it was so captivating, the way he fought.

Kirito seemed to go faster and faster, but with one more blow, the Boss died, and the room filed with tiny blue pieces. “Is it… over?” He asked as the ‘Coagulations’ thing popes up.

Kirito fell over, but just in time so you could catch him.

~Time skip~

Kirito slowly got up to see Asuna and you over him. “Oh, my head.” He said as he looked around a bit. “How long was I out for?”

“J-just a few seconds.” Asuna said as she whipped away tears.

“Kirito you idiot! What where you thinking?!” You said as you pulled him into a hug and lightly cried.

“It’s okay (y/n), I’m fine” He said as he hugged you back lightly then you pulled away.

“Kirito!” Asuna cried as she gave him a hug too.

“Gezz, to hug me so hard, you’ll take the last bit of my health away.” He said as Asuna still hugged him and made you kinda jealous.

“Covratz and two of other men where the only ones who died.” Kline said.

“We haven’t lost a player since floor 67.” Kirito sighed.

“That wasn’t a boss fight it was suicide, Corvatz was a damn fool! There’s no point to any of this if you die.” He looked around a bit. “And you’re not off the hook either, what the hell did you do just now?”

“Well… it’s an extra skill I picked up. Dual-wielding. Kinda likes (y/n)’s.”

“Dude, are there prerequisites?!” Kline asked.

“If I had known that I would have shared it by now.”

“Well, it’s not on the information broker either. Who did you get it?” Kline asked.

“Well about 6 munths ago, I was looking at my skill lists and saw it there, but it anyone else found out that I had it…”

“Then everyone else would get pissed ‘cause they didn’t have it.”

“It is kinda hell to deal with for a while.” You sighed thinking abut what happened when you first got it.

“Well, they say your character is built by life’s challenges so keep soldering on young man.” Kline said.

“Easier said than done.” Kirito sighed.

“Where going to the warp gate, do you want to come?” Kline asked.

“No, I’ll catch up with you latter. I need to rest for a bit.”

“Okay, have a safe tip back.” Kline said and walked away.

It was now only the 3 of you in the room, and it didn’t look like Asuna was going anywhere, so this was as close as it got to privet. ‘This is my chance, to tell Kirito how I feel about him!’

“(y/n) what’s the matter?” Krito must have cought onto you just being quiet.

“Well, if you died I wouldn’t know what to do.” You said.

“What are you talking about, you jumped into there first remember?”

“Well Kirito, it’s just I lo-“ Asuna cut you off.

“I’m taking my leave from the guild.” She said.

“Why?” He asked, forgetting that you two where having a conversation.

“Did you forget already, I said I was teaming up with you…”

There was an awkward silence in the room. Asuna just told Kirito that she wanted to be with him right before you where going to do the same. Now it was only if Kirito was going to accept.

….

“Okay…” He said gently towards Asuna and looked up at you. You where almost in tears, but gave a big smile.

“H-how wonderful for y-you, I-I hope you guys can be happy to-together.” You busted out into tears and ran out side. Kirito called your name what you didn’t look back.

He even tried to get up, but his HP and Asuna kept him down.

~October 19, 2024 Floor 22: (y/n)’s house~

It had been a while, but your house was finally remade, and you went back to living life as you should. You stopped fighting for a bit, really just shut everyone out.

Asuna and Kirito where trying to message you, but you would never respond. You even found a way to hack the system so they couldn’t see you on the map.

But you sat down and read the newspaper. “A blue-eyed demon that took out an entire army and a duel-wielder that took out the boss by himself. Even the Messenger of Death of Sword Art Online was helpless against the monster. After the Raven had lost her arrows, lightning flash had to help her and in the end The Black Swordsman of SAO saved the day.” You gave a sigh. “How did they even know half of this happened?” You stood up and stretched out.

“Maybe I’ll get another chance to tell Kirito.”

“Okay, I’m ready switch out!” He said as you did so.

You guy’s watched in aw. He had two swords in his hands and started to attack the boss. “What sort of skill is that?!’ Kline asked.

You knew what it was, since you had one yourself. “It’s a special skill… It applies to him and only too him, a unique skill that only he has.” You said. You never took your eyes off him for a second; it was so captivating, the way he fought.

Kirito seemed to go faster and faster, but with one more blow, the Boss died, and the room filed with tiny blue pieces. “Is it… over?” He asked as the ‘Coagulations’ thing popes up.

Kirito fell over, but just in time so you could catch him.

~Time skip~

Kirito slowly got up to see Asuna and you over him. “Oh, my head.” He said as he looked around a bit. “How long was I out for?”

“J-just a few seconds.” Asuna said as she whipped away tears.

“Kirito you idiot! What where you thinking?!” You said as you pulled him into a hug and lightly cried.

“It’s okay (y/n), I’m fine” He said as he hugged you back lightly then you pulled away.

“Kirito!” Asuna cried as she gave him a hug too.

“Gezz, to hug me so hard, you’ll take the last bit of my health away.” He said as Asuna still hugged him and made you kinda jealous.

“Covratz and two of other men where the only ones who died.” Kline said.

“We haven’t lost a player since floor 67.” Kirito sighed.

“That wasn’t a boss fight it was suicide, Corvatz was a damn fool! There’s no point to any of this if you die.” He looked around a bit. “And you’re not off the hook either, what the hell did you do just now?”

“Well… it’s an extra skill I picked up. Dual-wielding. Kinda likes (y/n)’s.”

“Dude, are there prerequisites?!” Kline asked.

“If I had known that I would have shared it by now.”

“Well, it’s not on the information broker either. Who did you get it?” Kline asked.

“Well about 6 munths ago, I was looking at my skill lists and saw it there, but it anyone else found out that I had it…”

“Then everyone else would get pissed ‘cause they didn’t have it.”

“It is kinda hell to deal with for a while.” You sighed thinking abut what happened when you first got it.

“Well, they say your character is built by life’s challenges so keep soldering on young man.” Kline said.

“Easier said than done.” Kirito sighed.

“Where going to the warp gate, do you want to come?” Kline asked.

“No, I’ll catch up with you latter. I need to rest for a bit.”

“Okay, have a safe tip back.” Kline said and walked away.

It was now only the 3 of you in the room, and it didn’t look like Asuna was going anywhere, so this was as close as it got to privet. ‘This is my chance, to tell Kirito how I feel about him!’

“(y/n) what’s the matter?” Krito must have cought onto you just being quiet.

“Well, if you died I wouldn’t know what to do.” You said.

“What are you talking about, you jumped into there first remember?”

“Well Kirito, it’s just I lo-“ Asuna cut you off.

“I’m taking my leave from the guild.” She said.

“Why?” He asked, forgetting that you two where having a conversation.

“Did you forget already, I said I was teaming up with you…”

There was an awkward silence in the room. Asuna just told Kirito that she wanted to be with him right before you where going to do the same. Now it was only if Kirito was going to accept.

….

“Okay…” He said gently towards Asuna and looked up at you. You where almost in tears, but gave a big smile.

“H-how wonderful for y-you, I-I hope you guys can be happy to-together.” You busted out into tears and ran out side. Kirito called your name what you didn’t look back.

He even tried to get up, but his HP and Asuna kept him down.

~October 19, 2024 Floor 22: (y/n)’s house~

It had been a while, but your house was finally remade, and you went back to living life as you should. You stopped fighting for a bit, really just shut everyone out.

Asuna and Kirito where trying to message you, but you would never respond. You even found a way to hack the system so they couldn’t see you on the map.

But you sat down and read the newspaper. “A blue-eyed demon that took out an entire army and a duel-wielder that took out the boss by himself. Even the Messenger of Death of Sword Art Online was helpless against the monster. After the Raven had lost her arrows, lightning flash had to help her and in the end The Black Swordsman of SAO saved the day.” You gave a sigh. “How did they even know half of this happened?” You stood up and stretched out.

“Maybe I’ll get another chance to tell Kirito.”
