Description "Centuries ago, there was a meteor with a dead city on it that directed itself to crash several miles north of Brichester. The impact crater filled with water to become the lake. The six houses around the lake were built 'on the orders of a private group' (of about six or seven people from Goatswood, led by Thomas Lee, who could feel in his dreams that there was something alive under the water) in 1790. The group all disappeared around 1860 or 1870.  With the houses abandoned, they were let again in 1880, but people never stayed long. "

- Ramsey Campbell, "The Inhabitant of the Lake"

Glaaki is also somewhat machine. A spine retrieved from the site of an unsuccessful conversion, was metal. Also that throbbing suggests a motor.

That's him/her/it : Gla'aki, the Lod of the lake. Quite the horrible entity.
Its followers wrote most of it teaching in several tomes called the "Revelations of Gla'aki" which foretold many disasters to come and describe some of the most horrible gods that lurks in the beyond.

The tomes also give lore on atomic theory, on geology, and on extraterrestrial life. It would make the reader an Einstein, an astronomer...

Thanks ^^
I'm quite surprised by your choice, for I thought it was quite underachieved compared to the others.
Me, I rather prefer theses ones, that I'm quite satisfied :

I confess that i love glaaki as a creature. i used it in a call of cthulhu game and it was quite successful

Aaah i understand. I also took quite the liking to the complex nature of this deity. He had a well furbished history, slaving capacities and a smoke-covered lake at night is quite the ghastly scene. That and the Revelations gives plenty of means to interact with the players.
My own favorite is Hastur, especially with his King in Yellow avatar.

Ho yes Hastur is very efficient for long campaigns.
I think Groth is the best outer god if you want to give to the players a real feeling of insanity and hopeless imminent apocalypse
