this is fun!
the way the fries and the bag are placed, it looks like something with a really big mouth is after the fries.

but how does one knit something this small? back when I still knitted myself, I already had trouble working with larger pieces.

I used medium weight yarn with size 8 needles, so it's not too too small. But the smaller the needles and the lighter the yarn, the smaller the gauge will be.
So, 30 stitches could be thick enough for a bag with one gauge, but 30 stitches with a smaller gage could be a thin scarf... Hope this helps
Practice helps too. I remember my first knitted project... heh, not much use for that XD
