Silence stretched far and wide, the world bright, silent and dark all at once. There were no leaves here to rustle on the trees and no grasses to wave in the icy wind. Abyss trudged silently, long ago having dismissed his fins for land travel, his tail now a frozen block of ice that he drug behind him. All of this for a tiny stone that sat wrapped in the even smaller paws of the small esk on his back. She dropped her flowers miles back as they left the marsh, simultaneously she seemed to tire but was determined in her little quest. It hadn't taken long for the abnormal to scoop her up and carry her along his back, dropping his grasses in solidarity as they moved on into the night.

The ghostly form shivered against his back causing him pause. Quietly he gave her a gentle, questioning nudge.
It's dark. came the simple reply. Quietly Abyss snaked a glowing whisker and dangled it over her head, repeating the questioning nudge.
Thank you. Abyss nodded before continuing charioting the little esk on her quest.
