Hey, Doug. I remembered when this first came out, I ended up using it as my background. I came across the picture again on my laptop, and I decided to use it as a background again. It's absolutely gorgeous. <3 (I'm actually using the one with the Pillar boarder, and it also says "Nova Utopia: Immerse yourself in the Imaginary of the Mind") I cannot get over how great it is. This looks amazing on a 1920x1080 screen. I wish I had a screen that would fit the full resolution though. ;3; Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I still love your art. Β I'm sure you get told that on a daily basis though. <3 I hope you keep drawing. <3

Interesting to see the desert mesas not too far away. She must've thought of quite the diverse world.

I like the color and lighting, they emphasize that feeling of wonder the girl must be feeling.

The government of australia, is killing sharks. So I think it's better that these bipedal sharks live in Ocelancia insurance ~

MrMadManiac In reply to Astral-Requin [2014-06-29 03:34:16 +0000 UTC]

What, is it some form of extermination campaign? Or just excessive fishing?

Suddenly I'm reminded of an old debate I had this guy from school some years ago:

"I feel we should only kill bad creatures. Like sharks."
"Why?"
"Because they're... vicious. They kill so much."
"So? They're hunters in a harsh environment."

This will help you understand: fabula-ultimus.tumblr.com/post…

and: vimeo.com/94363725

Sharks are equal to the lions, guardians of our oceans. But despite the Lions having "The Chronicles of Narnia" or "The Lion King Disney" as positive ways. Shark unfortunately has no positive incentive is only portrayed as a monster for us all.

Sharks are truly special and wonderful creatures, but unfortunately a cloak of terror, fear and lies created by us, hides the real beauty of these animals. That's why I try to create a more honest picture. They deserve, because they are what make the oceans blue and full of life, the pillar of equilibrium ~

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MrMadManiac In reply to Astral-Requin [2014-06-29 04:18:46 +0000 UTC]

So it's a combination of both? The fisheries are catching and releasing heavily wounded sharks... to what end? What would it do to benefit them? Bait?

Sharks are interesting creatures, and are struggling with an old reputation. Indeed they are territorial, and are quick to defend themselves, but are conditioned that way because the sea is the world of fish-eat-fish.

Astral-Requin In reply to MrMadManiac [2014-06-29 04:41:47 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but about 70 million sharks a year die at the hands of humans. So it is no use to say that they are murderers, and we kill them the most cruel ways. Besides us being ignorant in learning about them ~
