This one is based on the photographs that Scootaloo finds in Chapter 9. So far this was is my favorite chapter; The idea of Apple Bloom growing up in a country where there are (potentially) no ponies at all and is completely different than Equestria is pretty damned cool. What I was thinking, and take this with a grain of salt since I really am having no input on the fic at all unless Tonic Plotter actually asks me for an idea (which has happened twice so far, try to guess what two), was that whatever country this is is a more gritty and realistic world compared to Equestria which is more rooted in fantasy and magic.FUN POINTLESS TRIVIA:
>The zebras are Grevy's Zebras and the gryphon is based on an african fishing eagle.
>The male zebra's gun is what Apple Bloom's gun originally looked like (The author wanted me to change it to a repeating firearm).
>The gryphon's rifle is a Spencer's Repeating Rifle, and the female zebra has a Steyr Mannlicher M1894 (Got the idea from a comment someone posted on Derpibooru a while back)

I've been meaning to do more art of this, but I've just been too darned busy. Hopefully this makes up for the complete lack of uploads on my part as of late.

More seriously, awesome pictures ! A thing I love is when a picture alone is able to tell a story and clearly this one does. Seeing this photographs I could tell that Apple Bloom lost her family, gain a new one, get draft in the army and probably lost her family again with those three picture to remind herself.

This is one of the better MLP fics I've seen, except for one thing that almost completely ruins it: the ridiculously huge cannon stuck to the tank's turret. Beyond the artistic point of putting a Antebellum-style cannon on a post-WWI tank design it looks too big and too badly positioned to be loaded or allow for any space in the turret for people. It would fire once, rock back almost to the point of flipping over (if the muzzle velocity was high enough, anyways), and then be rendered useless until someone got out and loaded it back up.
I really like the character designs for Apple Bloom and her friends/squadmates/lover (I'm sorry, I haven't read the fic in question so I'm shooting int he dark here), and the iconography on their uniforms. Reminds me of a lot of South Africa, while at the same time clearly drawing from 1920s US influences. This pic, more than any other, makes me want to read the fic it's from -- however, I confess that I might just want to see a fic showing Apple Bloom grow up in a different country, since most of the other pics in your gallery haven't done much to enthuse me to read it.

That's some serious food for thought there, I've got to admit. Honestly, I don't know too much about weapons other than what I can get from Google. I based the barrel on a 17th century cannon barrel, I think, rather than an actual tank barrel for whatever reason. The uniforms in this one are based on Confederate army uniforms, but redone to match the desert terrain, while all the weapons are early US. I remember originally I was going to base all of the stuff in the scene on Portuguese history (Since that's where Tonic, the author, is from), but I was worried I'd end up doing it wrong and insulting her in the process so I just stuck with what I know.
So far, trying not to give too many spoilers, the fic hasn't really revealed much about AB's past other than she was a soldier and is suffering serious PTSD based on what she said in Chapter 19. I'm liking it so far just because of the emphasis it's putting on the personalities of the characters; even the bad guys are well developed so far. I'm actually rooting for that Air Force captain guy, who seems like a pretty good guy so far despite being on the villain's side.

I never put much thought into it, to be honest. The Apple Bloom picture was the second one I made, and I didn't even think it was going to become a thing.
The gal writing the fic dropped me a hint though to say there's another member of the Apple Family that shows up in the story who may or may not be a bad guy/gal.

Uh, maybe AB gets a CM for potion-making or similiar things, so she goes to move in with Zecora in her homeland. In the while, Granny Smith died of old age, Big Mac is running Sweet Apple Acres, and Applejack lives in the castle with the other Mane Six.
If you ask who Big Mac is living with, it's his wife Cheerilee, plus their son and daughter, Down Branch and Apple Flower. Plus Babs Seed and the dog, Winona Jr.

The bad future MLP Universe, I would count it as an alternate universe and future of MLP, i wonder if someone made a fic in which the mainstream MLP characters met their alternate selves.

For some reason, in my eyes, the bad future series would play out like a Game of Thrones version of Friendship is Magic. xD
