i have extreme granblue brainworms and 80% of it is thanks to my danchou oc. help
also this dude still doesn't have a proper full body reference i just keep going apeshit and drawing him without one,the closest i have is the zeus no chuusai drawing HGSFLNHLGF i just don't like drawing references!!!!! just fuck around and find out my guy

anyway this piece isn't supposed to be sinister, he's shielding lyria's eyes from the scary and dangerous things in the world. blue is a big brother figure to lyria and he wants to keep her safe from the things that could hurt her, physically emotionally and mentally. he'll "handle it all, so just don't look, okay?" he doesn't want her to see him when he's being scary either, even though she wouldn't want him to keep it from her. she wouldn't love him any less, after all

super proud of how this came out tho, i know i say that every post but i've really been liking my art lately which is such a breath of fresh air after years of hating everything i created. i still have no understanding of lighting and really struggle with it but i think it looks alright? i used some effects in CSP that made the lighting cooler and it added so much to the mood even if the effect was subtle
