Description The devil will find work … and two days without a commission have been dedicated to painterly play. This started out as oil on board, it was just a monochromatic underpainting which I was going to paint in oil but instead I decided to scan the oil underpainting and work on it with digital painting and some scanned ink brushstrokes. not sure if it's finished, just an experiment really it's sometimes fun to have no plan as to where a picture is going.

I hear too often that often times the last thing an artist wants to hear is, "that's beautiful", because it sounds superficial(and then it's misunderstood)--which I understand, being that I make art too--when what is expected or wanted to be heard is, "I feel this", or, "I understand", but, this painting changes you upon looking at it. It really is beautiful in its' own way--beautiful, haunting, and chaotic. Maybe it was just an experiment, and "simpler", but I really think highly of it.

Thank-you for your considered comment. means a lot! I personally don't mind 'beautiful' or any other slightly more immediate response I would be very happy for my art to work an various levels so that it might be just quick visual enjoyment (the illustrator in me needs to be able to do that) or on a more contemplative level (the poet & artist in me needs that) This being a slightly new and experimental approach your words are muchly appreciated thanks!!
