Done for the ~Rikku-club 's most recent contest 'Rikku's favorite summon'.I frequently write the Al-bhed as being a little enamored with Ixion, for what I would think are obvious reasons. Now, someone might wonder why she would like a Thunder summon considering her fear, but in my fanfiction storylines, the aeon's aren't really totally gone, which is even evidenced in X-2, though they were really somewhat more like ghosts at that point. I have an idea for a short story that would detail Rikku's time on the Thunder Plains, where she camped out to get over her fear of thunder, and I think that she would have had a bit of a spiritual expirence while there as well. (I've other ideas about this too such as the other reasons why Al-bhed dislike the farplane, but that's nothing to do with this.
) I was so happy with this image, and I wanted to color it (line art in my scraps) but i didn't have my usual copy of Photoshop, different computer, so things might look a little different from what I usually do.

I always figured that the 'Bhed favored Ixion for various reasons, only Rikku was afraid of him because of her fear of lightning. A story that I later wrote touched on how when she got over her fear of lightning, she got over her fear of him, too.

I second that, if I may be so bold. All this FF fanning has really honed your humans, and your faces.. Rikku's looks great, and the little bits of shading around her eyesocket are sweet and emotive. Your lines are a nice mix of clean and scribble texture, even in the fiddly places like her bra laces.
<3 Ixion, but Valefor will always be my favorite. n.n

*squee* Thank you! I was really literally surprised when I finished this. I love how sometimes something just seems to 'click' and an image comes out just right. I'm glad you noticed her eye, I was hoping someone would. Ixion just flowed out, but I've drawn a lot of horse heads in my time and my wyvern head is rather similar to one, so he wasn't quite so hard...really, nothing in this was terribly hard, except for Rikku's hand, and even that came out well enough for me.

If I may be so bold, I think this is one of you best pieces to date. Excellent work, and I don't think working with an unfamiliar copy of Photoshop hurt it any. Now if you'll excuse me (goes to fav).
