Description Grown-ups Land

At the doorway of understanding
I hesitate
The world I'll enter is demanding
but I just want to investigate

On the treshold of of responsibility
I falter
My life will change inevitably
and I dont want to alter

One step in doorknob in hand
I fret
this is what they call grown-ups land
and I don't want to go there yet.

I finally have an image that goes with the poem (this has taken me about 5 years! but like I said, it takes a while for skill to catch up with your imagination! This has been inspired by many things. First time scratchboard, definitely an experience! Enjoy!

I love your use of symbolism to tie it in with the poem, which by the way, I probably enjoyed more than the drawing (Sorry!)

No worries! I think the poem flowed out of me quite readily where the drawing took a lot of effort to peruade to leave the safe boundaries of my mind. I hardly dare lead you to my writing gallery. (see signature) Writing and art are quite different ways to express oneself!

Even tho it sort of flies in the face of a solid truth i know....that i have never ever met a real adult yet ...ever.....i still am impacted by the great symbology.

Great graphic and a well done scratchy!

I think it is not so much a boundary as I percieved it to be though
I'm happily flowint gin between! being grown up makes you boring LOL
So I try and hold on a little longer.. I have the key to that lock!

I'm on the brick of being grown up. Allmost finished my high school, 18 years...
but indeed, I hate being boring, yet is seems to be the most stable form?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AtarAtis In reply to grotecavia [2009-03-22 00:31:13 +0000 UTC]

Funny, I wrote that right after I turned 18!
the picture came a lot later as it took a while for my artistic abilities to catch up so to say! And soemtimes stable is sanity..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

grotecavia In reply to AtarAtis [2009-03-22 07:59:47 +0000 UTC]

it sure is. but stablitly is boring. rather being insane and feel then everyday the same shit.

Merci! I think this was when I was about 18.. (the poem) but I didnlt have the ability to get this image on paper till a little while ago, it was in my head in a similar verion for quite some time though!
Thankyou, I'm glad you caught the feeling of it!

But thje big question, protect the hand the boy or does it only conrtol him?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AtarAtis In reply to Schatten-Drache [2007-09-25 15:55:28 +0000 UTC]

Or has the boy decided to be done with being controlled and did it just take charge of the hand??? I guess that is for the viewer to decide!
