Thank you so much. But I don't think I want to do another bear. It was just too much trouble and work for the $ I charged. And the shipping on this cub cost $50 and change. It's just toooo much. Now if it was an adult... geeze, I don't even want to think anbout it!

LOL, neither did I. I was supposed to do a coyote, then the bear arrived in the mail instead from the commissioner. I was like, ooooookay?! LOL - it took a long time, but I got it done!

Lol because believe it or not CA is not as awesome as everyone seems to think, and in fact the only way to live happily and legally there is to have. A good bit of money. Lol
Plus I love PA, it has beautiful scenery, a nice charm, and best of all a better economy for the most part. Lol

Hummm. I didn't think of it that way, BUT I did know that everything is TERRIBLY expensive. A cheap apartment there is what my mortgage costs me here in TN. And I own almost 5 acres w a 2 story house! So, I'm with yah! East of the Mississippi & East coast is better! XD

To start, a mountable bear pelt is like $300-$800. And I mean, NOT rug cut, but cased. & if it's a cub, like this one,... I'd have to hand make the headformfor it again(16 hours @ that)- to make another bear would take me over 50+ hours worth my while only spent on only ONE animal, I'd need to at least make a low avg of $500 for all the work I'd do from start to finish.
mathmatically, that's $500 divided by 50 hours. (i did almost 53 on this one) That's less then $9.50 an hour.
Armature, paw pad work, any/all repairs, prep etc., sewing, filling, finishing work, and working on a bear in general is nothing like any other pelt. Cow hide is easier to stretch and sew then bear. They are a royal *b^#ch* to deal with. And very time consuming.
To make a comparison, a taxidermist(cuz I asked Zhon) mounting a l/s bear, no environment, CUSTOMERS pelt, costs $5000. And that's @ an avg of 40hours.
So yeah. Bears should be rugs.lol
