Probably about 260$, give or take any add-on's you may like. Like jointed armature, and a weighted body...

I'll answer this since she hasn't yet in case you are still wondering. ^^
Jointed armature is armature(wires or other materials placed inside the pelt to give it a more realistic look)that has "natural" joints where an animal would naturally have joints in the bones. Containment weighting is pockets of weight placed inside the pelts to make it "flop" naturally like a real animal.(So say if the paws are weighted they'll drop naturally when the mount is picked up, and if it has it in it's rump the rump will drop instead of the mount being top heavy from the traditionally mounted head.)

She's gorgeous. I love your faces. They're so realistic compared to a lot of others I've seen.

That sucks... If you ever do open though, tell me! I'd love you to make a rabbit ^^
Hmm... Tempting... Would you possibly just sell the skin on its own?

Actually, I am waiting for a wet tanned, chocolate/brown colored rabbit to return from the tannery. I may post him for sale... if he turns out well, I may very well do another - in a diff color coat.

I couldn't take your cotton tail... If I could provide a pelt sometime in the future? Maybe when I get one (might be a while) if I note you and ask again? ^^

Sure. Oh, the rabbit is a domestic rex - but I'd be happy to work on anyone elses pelt for the simple sum or $200.00 - that includes everything but return shipping. And it would be done within 7 days - then returned. No long waiting.

I just decided I couldn't afford to buy a premade, and didn't reeeeaaallly like what I saw, and felt I could make my own, so I just started doing research on the web, asking actual taxidermists q's, and finally purchased my first pelt - Ro-Jo the red coyote, his eyes, his head form, clay and glue. I pretty much used 'tools' from around the house and got to work. Then I realized I could sculpt! I've been doing it since July or early August of last year. I have no Taxidermy education, but I do have a college degree in commercial art, and visual communiations. I also went to vocational art school my Jr. and Sr. years of H.S. -I don't do my own skinning however since I'm a HUGE wuss, but I have begun to do my own tanning. The biggest step I took was going to [link] <---Van Dykes Taxidermy - and ordered their Free- HUGE 300+ pg. mag. (bottom right hand side of their home page) and you get a new one in the mail once a year. I have 2. It has pix of finished taxidermy, 1000's of forms and ANY and EVERY supply anyone in the 'biz' could ever want ot need. It tells you what the stuff is used for, and sometimes gives rating of the products they carry. AND when you order, if you have any q's you talk to LIVING ppl. It's a really great co. and they don't keep you waiting when you order shtuff. They ship pretty fast. Kids or not, if you feel you can, you probably can - and only by continuing will you get better. You can clearly see that in some of my works - except Mr.T who was an old pelt - not much I could do there. But as it turns out, he's my fave. Then Jewlie, then Phillipe [link] .
Taxidermy will always be a great business to be involved in, there will always be a demand, especially if you get edumacated in it, BIG $! So, I say go for it!

what kind of pelt would you look for? a pelt thats tanned with the feet and calws or what? and plus what would you use in a soft mount? ive looked around for soft mounts but there isnt alot of them out there. and yeah that looks like a really great place to get supplies cause i was looking online and theres not every many good ones but that site i think is the best so far! yeah i didnt think it would be a problem but my family is all iffy on the idea of me doing it but my dad is probably the one that understands the most. phillipe is sooo cute!!!!
thank you sooo much your helping me take many more steps to me getting to my goal!

Totally! Freshly tanned with good stretch - I feel wet tanned is best, if you can get one that way (Jewlie was) so you don't have to wait to work on it - sometimes days to rehydrate the nose enough and it MUST be refridgerated during that time, not frozen(unless it's wet tanned, and you can't work on it for a few days) - to make it mountable.
Always ask and/or look, does it have it's bottom jaw WITH all lips.
Any tears, or major holes, and WHERE
does it have it's FEET with claws AND pads (legs doesn't always mean feet are there) - no pads is a BAD thing to deal with - if the paws look all splayed out - avoid it, unless you can see for urself
it doesn't HAVE to all be turned out, but that is the best, you can mount the ears that are unturned by 'carding' them, but u'll have to turn the lips urself
Is the nose in good shape, that can be replaced, but if u order ur stuff b4 u get ur pelt, u'll wanna know if the nose is going to need to be replaced
is there any 'slipage' or 'rubs' anywhere on the pelt, and where? How bad?
You may also want to know if it was ranched or wild, ranched will be less likely to have any major flaws, wild - it may have been shot, that ='s a hole somewhere, and it's usually burnt the fur and the leather, it's not a simple fix and makes the area brittle, so avoid that if you can, if trapped, check the legs, cuz damage could be there - missing leather and or fur
are the eyes stretched? not a simple fix, but it can be done [link]
and lastly.... what were the nose to eye measurements B4 it was skinned, so you can find the proper form
I probably forgot something...lol. I'm happy to help anyone with q's, and I'll do my best to help you out in any way I can!
