Theres an urban and modern style. All characters look personal, epic and valiant. The clothes are well crumpled, the beautiful and cheerful background fits this and you did a great work with the yellow girl's expression and the red boy's pose.

i don't think you failed at it, the poses are all different which is cool, the shading is awesome and the background is cool although i maybe would changed the background colour to maybe black or a dark colour to make the background and characters stand out a bit more but overall lovely birthday gift
