I have no patience for carols.
Carols are useless to me as a Jew,
And the weather is cold,
And I’ve essays to write,
And homework to do.
No, I simply to not have t he patience for carols.
I can handle the holiday cheer and good will,
But they sing about Jesus,
And Mary,
And all things that are Christian.

It’s only religious advertising.

My Mother, who listened,
My Mother, who did not scorn
(Though she should of)
Laughed in a way that Santa would be jealous of,
(“If you say so, sweet pea.”)
And went off with her cocoa
to enjoy the carols.
