This is absolutely adorable!
I just downloaded blender, because I'd love to get into 3D art, but it is extremely frustrating ;0; For some reason I can not rotate my screen, I can only zoom in and out, this makes it impossible to do anything! It would be awesome if you have a tip or suggestion.

This is amazing and she's so adorable and you're such a wonderful person for actually spending time on something so awesome for me andΒ I really don't deserve this ; - ;

Thank you so much for making this ; u ; I really love this amazing gift you have made for me!!
Do you think it's possible if I used this for my DA ID? It's too amazing to not use *u*

LOL hahaha you're so funny xD
I'M SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT. LIKE SERIOUSLY.
And you totally deserve it for being awesome all the time!
Of course you can use it as your DA ID if you want. Feel free to crop it or whatever you need to do to make it work ;D

But it's like so amazing and cute at the same time it's hard not to love *u*
I have used it and it's a beautiful tiny size *u* Well, not tiny tiny but small enough to not take up so much space XD

Thanks! It does look pretty close, but I want to get it even closer! To the point where it's hard to tell the difference hahaha

D'awww~ She did turned out adorable as suspected~ XD And soooo fast too~ only 3 days? uwaa~
I'm wondering~ How is the lower section of the dress put together? And did you model out the wavy-sections~ or did you use transparency?
I keep thinking I need to improve a whoooole lot on my ability to draw expressions every time I see one of your models/drawings~ T^T
Last but not least~ Suuuuuch tiny shoes~ D'awwww~ <3
Congrats on finishing another project Onion~ o/

It took me 5 days to model mine~ and 2 months to rig and fix all of my mistakes~ In comparison~ You're quite fast~ >w<;;
You do have more practice than me though~ so makes sense~
D'aww~ I feel special~
Oooh~ You used the curves to poly tool~ I haven't experimented it with much but I like the result you got from it~
Transparency does remove some potential volume~ so this is more likely better~ ^^
Compared to yours~ I feel like I left too much geometry that wasn't needed inside of the head~
Aww~ But that's what makes them adorable~ I tend to over-complicate mine which doesn't suit chibis~ T^T
Thanks to yours I plan to change the eyes of mine a bit to remove some of the detail on them~ it seems better that way~
Also~ I do believe moving the eye's position on the texture helped to make it fit better~ O w O)b
I'm still wondering why you place the mouth above the eyes when you UV map~ personal preference? XD
You're welcome but I'm the one who should be thanking you for showing me the behind the scenes Onion~ D'awww~
I have created 4 Emotion Face textures for my Model~ so now I just need to attach the head to the bones~ & pose her~ and then I'll finally have something to show~ ^^

Oh! Yeah, don't worry! You'll get much faster as you practice more.
Lol I have no idea what a curves to poly tool is .__. // meisstoopid
Yes, the head is completely empty, and I only just recently figured out how to model the hair in a way to achieve this. Prior, I would model the entire head and then plop the hair on top of that which made like 2 hidden layers which wasn't even remotely friendly for texturing or rigging.
Good! Glad it's working out for you!
Why do I place the moith above the eyes? You know what, it's so weird that I have never thought about this myself o_o Whenever I unwrap the face the mouth part always goes on top automatically, I guess I just never thought about moving it. WEIRD.
You're welcome for the behind the scenes! Can't wait to see your finished product!! Ffffffff

It's a made up/combined word I made up~ so don't worry~ Sorry~ XD
I believe those were curves~ the pre-outline you created for the dress~ using it to do a 360 degree turn around~ and creating polygons in the process is what I think it was~ so a Curves line --> polygon conversion~ ^^
Weeeird indeed~ that you hadn't realized~ XD
I UV map the face from the chin to the forehead~ and from cheek to cheek as one part~ So it's the "normal-ish" orientation and placement~ Kind of why I found the way you did it~ a bit weird~
As usual~ It's one step forwards~ two steps back~ - -;;
After posing my model and playing out the frames~ I realize that the physics for the hair no longer work~ since I didn't know what was wrong or how to fix it~ I decided to redo that setup again~ While it was annoying to redo~ I at least got the chance to fix certain things about the hair that were bugging me~
Now I just need to figure out what to do as the last pose~ and how to get the lighting done correctly~ ^^

ATIOE In reply to CuriousBunny11 [2014-03-19 15:47:36 +0000 UTC]
It's probably better to UV Map the face your way just to keep similar parts on the same texture. Sometimes splitting the textures in the middle of a smooth object gives me trouble.
Oooohhhh You use physics for the hair? I've never actually tried physics.

CuriousBunny11 In reply to ATIOE [2014-03-20 01:03:48 +0000 UTC]
It helps mainly for occasions you plan to texture something big-ish on their face~like a continuous expression or special things like face-paint~ masks or so forth~
Yep~ I split the hair into two sections~ upper and lower~ The upper section is attached to the head bone~ while the bottom one has physics on it~ then I just constraint the physics one to the top one~ and it ends up working~ I did something similar with the skirt section of the dress~ ^^
The biggest draw-back is that I have to look through all of the frames before I get to the one I wish to work on~ otherwise it doesn't calculate the frames in-between and the physics will go hoooorribly wrong~ Hopefully it isn't similar on Blender~

Oooh! YES another good reason to uv the entire face!
A long time ago I tried to add softbody physics to hair unsuccessfully. I'll have to try again on my next model maybe and see how it works.
