He seems to be one of the favorites! I sold about half of those when they were in the show, and he was one of the first to go. BTW, I've been working the past couple of weeks on characters for your book! I'll send you what I have so far when I get my main computer back online. I'm gonna try and whip out several more too!

You're welcome. I saw Tikis all over the place when I was stationed over in the Pacific.

These are awesome!
Seeing that there are so many of them, I feel the need to play favourites. Frankenstein, and that chimney ones are really well designed and quite funny - I also like the one with the bird. I like how you can interact with the Frankenstein tiki too.
Personally I consider plywood really difficult to paint on, but you did such a great job. Hope you didn't give them away!!

Oh no, I didn't give them away, but I haven't sold them all yet! The Frankenstein one is my favorite too, and I thought he'd be the first one to sell, be he's waiting patiently on the gallery owner's office wall for his time to come around again! And a lot more people than I thought really liked the bird too, even though he was one of the simpler ones. Thanks for the watch and the faves!

Oh they're exhibited somewhere? So you do this professionally?
And no worries. They're all gorgeous.

What I do after laying it all out and deciding which pieces I want seperate, I cut the main mart of the mask out of 3/4" MDF, which is kind of a new fangled particle board. Then I'll cut out the other parts, usually eyes, horns and stuff like that, out of 1/4" plywood. After priming everything I paint it and piece it together as best I can using glue and screws, and on most of these I tried to hide any sign of fasteners, screws, or nails. I usually use another small 1/4" thick block underneath the raised pieces to give more depth. Glad you like them and thanks for the watch and fave!
