Description This was something from a dream I had several years ago. In the dream I was at some kind of campground and spotted this guy in the lake. He turned and looked right at me with an expression of hatred and I woke up soon after. The image stuck with me all day so I did this pic. I guess he's some kinda ghost or something. This is pretty typical of the type of stuff I was doing 8 or 9 years ago. Not neccasarily the subject matter, but the technique.

Very creepy Ben, I would've been afraid the dream meant I was going to die I'm a paranoid thing though. How do you think your styles changed from here? Great rendering on the ocean & nice inky techniques all around-he looks creepy as.

Well, now that I do more color stuff, I don't do as much cross hatching and scumbling and stuff like that. I try to keep my linework a bit cleaner and simpler just in case I decide I wanna color whatever I draw. And the dream kinda had me freaked out the whole day afterwards, so I'm right there with ya. Great piece. I like your use of contrast. Very striking.

It reminds me of a small news story I saw years ago that always stuck with me. Probably in the late 1980s. It was a short mention of a lifeboat that had been discovered by the coast guard. The part that creeped me out was that it had been from a ship that had sank almost 40 years ago! Imagine it floating around for decades, all by it's lonesome, through all types of weather. EHHH....SCARE-REEE! Eh....MAH-MEEE!

Me either! It's gotta be something nasty I'm sure. I just wish I could have captured what it really looked like in my dream. The pic is the basic idea, but he was much more menacing and evil. Thanks for the fave!
