Facebook Well, since the last painting I did was done in totally different game/fantasy style, I wanted to do a little break from that and practice my skills on the wacom in classical portrait. Since I'm studying the history of comics I chose a picture from Doutzen Kroes which I think she has a prototype face for a comic heroine. It might not make any sense, since this is a portrait and not a comic style painting, but that's just the way things are. If you want to get ahead with your comic skills you have to draw from real humans and this is just the way I do one of my exercises not to get bored

i really like her facial expression and her face in general. her hat is confusing me a bit xD i think the contrast between her the lashes of her left eye and the white of the eye is a bit too harsh.. but i couldn't have made it better anyways

Brilliant! The skin on her face might need a little smoothing, but the colours and highlights/shines are great.
