Description ----Izanami------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the primordial gods in Shintoist mythology, who along with her husband/brother Izanagi is responsible
for the creation of Japan, while also being the mother of many important deities in her panteon. In the
beginning, when the world was still enveloped in chaos, Izanagi and Izanami were tasked by the primal
gods Kunitokotachi and Amenominakanushi with creating the first piece of land. They gave the couple a magical
spear called Ame-no-nuboko, which then both used to churn the chaotic sea from atop the bridge of heavens,
creating thus Japan's first islands, place they would then call home and establish a family. During their
marriage ceremony, Izanami spoke first to her husband, which Izanagi didn't appreciate, but ignored and they
became husband and wife. When she gave birth to their children, they were born deformed, and were considered
demons instead of gods. Both asked the other gods what went wrong, and they said that they should repeat their
wedding ceremony, but Izanagi should speak first, they did so, and were successful. Izanami eventually gave birth
to many deities during their marriage, however, when giving birth to the god of flames Kagu-Tsuchi she was
severely burned and died. Furious with his lover's death, Izanagi kills his own son and sets foot to the
netherworld to rescue her. Finding her in the darkness of the land of the dead, Yomi, he tries to convince
her to come back with him to the world of the living. Izanami agrees with him, on the condition that he shouldn't
try to look at her during their stay in the underworld. However, full of curiosity, Izanagi lights up his comb
and becomes horrified when he sees that his lovely wife had become a rotting corpse overrun with maggots and with
several thunder gods sprouting from her body. He runs away in fear to Izanami's despair, who sends after him the
demons of Yomi, the Yomotsu-Shikome and Yomotsu Ikusa, along with the thunder gods. Izanagi transforms his clothing
into food, which he then uses to distract the demons, managing thus to escape from there while also sealing the
entrance with a huge rock. Furious with his betrayal, Izanami swears revenge saying that she shall kill every day
1000 of her husband's children, while he then says that everyday he shall make 1500 more in their place. After this
she embraced the role of goddess of death, Yomotsu-no-Okami

Keeping with the whole Japanese god thingy going on... I'm not exactly happy with the colors... but, whatevs.

There's a lot of symbology and cultural references going on here, but I don't have time to explain everything
now... But, if any of you really want to know, just ask and i'll add it up later, no problem.

Hope you all enjoyed it, until next time!

----Izanami------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No início,
Eles decidem repetir

I could spend all day talking about them and explaining their origins, but at the end of
the day it's just flavor text... Sometimes the post gets delayed for over a week just because
of the text, so sometimes I have to keep it shorter than I would like to...  TT__TT
But, if that sparks anyone's interest to go and search them up to discover about the monsters
for themselves, then my mission is more than accomplished. =w=
As always, thanks for the fave and comment. It's nice to know someone actually reads these. XDD
