It's privately owned, so they don't have to use the HGU-55.

My orthodontist told me about that way back in 2006. That guy must have a crap ton of money. ._.
I do know down at Ropkey Army Museum (In Indiana) is trying to restore a BAC Strikemaster. He needs the engine and to put the wings back on. He also has the one copy of the X-14. [link]
Needs some new paint, but other than that, it looks new.

That's not to say there aren't nations still flying the T-33, just that this one isn't active US military.
