Have a closer look at Joshi's simple character rendering of an Inspiration Gnome. Don't we all need one? I love a nice character study. With meticulous attention to detail, amusing little gems dangling here and there, and a nicely refined representation of light (within the constraints of a slightly cartooned universe) Joshi's little inspiration wielder could easily populate the cast of a Miyazaki animated film. The burst of brightly colored but well worn orange of the little man's sash, the gentle glisten of the copper pot and the twisted highlights of that too-tall soft leather top hat tease and ring the characters marked mysterious face. Technically sophisticated, with appropriate use of light and some nice (albeit subtle) attention to textural detail the rendering has a nearly effortless quality while still honoring the sever occluding contours that map it's inked edges. The result is a crisp, precise drawing full of life, light, color and charisma. For a little extra fun, dig through Joshi's gallery. There are several rhino's in there worth perusing and some amusing steampunk studies.

He looks rather cute. And giving people inspiration, how kind? Can you send him over maybe ^^ *quickly puts on a helmet*
