Description Fake / Real photo - eye drawing

What are you looking at here ? The same exact drawing that i just doodled up but the difference here is that one is photoshopped and the other is a normal. There is really no secret that 99% of people who upload their photos online have edited the pic beforehand . Most do just slight light/dark adjustments ( thats what i normally do ) while other people do a lot more. ( here is a example of a lot more )

Like i said its normal and most people know this . Im doing this post to show people especially the younger generation that not everything you see online is done purely with normal traditional art supply's - that raises the standard that they never could achieve and possibly give up because they get demotivated and the goal might be unrealistic.Β

I have even came across whole profiles where artist pretend to work in traditional mediums but in fact they just photoshop whole designs and pretend to be traditional. ( some of them are really good so its almost impossible to spot the difference ) .

All of this is good and i love my self photoshop and it does take skill to master it and use it as a art tool. But what i dont like is people pretending that there was no photoshop/ digital involved in their work - thus confusing the eager minds who want to learn and losing respect from people who master art.

I have never done that, but that is a good idea. Maybe my portraits would look better

Well, the only difference I found is that the eye highlights (probably in the photoshopped one) is brighter than the other one.
Nice eye drawing BTW

If the description indicates that the finished photoshop is good.

No, well, people who understand this can see that a person has lied and will treat him accordingly.

I don't think I ever really edited a traditional drawing with "enhancements", (at least not my own and never uploaded it/them), I feel like it's cheating in a way, especially if you're gonna ship the drawing to a commissioner, it comes out less vibrant and it will make the commissioner angry that it's not as pretty as promised.

Before I read this I was thinking "How could they possibly make it look so bright like that with Pencils, it looks digital." Haha.Β  It's gorgeous though, love the colors β™₯β™₯

I just absolutely love your art, especially those Salt and colored Sand Pieces. The Patience I will never have Β .

Quite inspiring, really.

This is why I think having a defined style to your art is important; it lets you be unique no matter what your level of art skill is considered to be.

Well said. I notice that myself and make a real effort to give praises to those who are saying they are working completely in a traditional medium and clearly are. Thanks for bringing focus to this. I dislike that too.

Whoa, is the eye on the right Photoshopped or is it the one on the left? This I'd really cool by the way!

Thank you for doing this. I have seen a lot of people posting "traditional" art that is clearly photoshoped, but whenever I ask them about it they lie and say it's because they used this and that pencil and the lighting makes it look like that and so on. I don't think it's wrong to do it, but you have to be honest, and not a lot of people are. So thank you again, and I really like this drawing btw

At first I saw no difference but after staring at it I found out which one is photoshopped and also see why ppl might get discouraged of pursuing trad art
