I honestly don't know why they didn't keep that scene in there. Not only is it funny as hell, it kind of set up the bit that their dad had left... I remember when I first saw the movie that their dad just kind of came out of nowhere.
But I absolutely love love love this shot.

Too be honest I don't remember exactly where I got the picture at....if you haven't seen the deleted scenes at all though, I highly recommend it. They are amazingly funny.
