There's also a Mega Man III for the Game Boy, but it's very different from its home-console counterpart, much like I, II, IV, and especially V. For one, you fight four robots from one rogues gallery first, then four more from the next one. They for the most part are neat little squares for the weakness charts to make up for the absent members of each (press F for Bomb Man, Guts Man, Gyro Man, Gravity Man, Star Man, and Wave Man), but some, especially IV, have lines connecting the two squares, for whatever reason. Then there's a special Killer boss who gives you his weapon upon defeat so you can easily take down Wily and his stupid machines, especially the hilariously small one in II. Not to mention they're all midquels, taking place in between home-console entries.
About V, though, it was around this time Capcom realized they would no longer be doing Nes entries by the time 7 rolled around, so they ditched the "returning Robot Masters and one new Killer" concept and decided to go to space, bringing us the Stardroids, nine quirky and lovable (despite their evilness) Robot Master equivalents who share names with every planet in the Solar System, complete with their own unique weakness nonagon that you're sadly never given the chance to fully utilize because Terra is conveniently missing from the obligatory rematch gauntlet! Not to mention the two all-new abilities exclusive to V, the Mega Arm, which you can upgrade for P-Chips, and the adorable green cat Tango, who rolls into a buzzsaw to cause pain and havoc to most anything and anyone he touches in this state! And, as yet another exciting twist, Wily refreshingly isn'tΒ the final boss this time, instead using a last resort in the form of walking talking doomsday weapon Sunstar, the big bad boss of the Stardroids and wielder of a mighty Nova Weapon that reduces robots to rubble! A major rule of thumb is that you should never look to old ruins to get what you want, because Wily realizes too late that Sunstar is to Ricardio the Heart Guy as Wily is to Ice King, and thus begins a bangin' tune to go along with a decently-challenging final boss, with a rather upsetting ending to the Short-Lived Saga of Sunstar, to boot!

I had a few of the games on Gameboy back in the day, those were pretty fun too. At least for on the go type gameplay

Yeah. They're available on the 3DS Virtual Console for a dirt-cheap price, and that's withΒ tax! I should know, I bought V myself!

A similar thing was achieved in 2001 with Rockman Strategy, but it was only in China, brought to us by Dreams Come True, and this time the robots are based off of our favorite Zodiac which is used in horoscopes and montages of your favorite movies and TV shows!
The plot this time is much darker than the simple "Wily recruits aliens to take over the world", as this time, he's recruiting aliens to kill all the plants and therefore no more oxygen will be left for us to breathe and we'll all DIE!

I dunno, there seems to be a lot of his heads just lying around
Are they the remnants of earlier Mega Men who tried and failed? Who can say for sure!

It's funny though, once you kind of figure one out they get easier, you start to look for patterns and things

I guess I'm just used/expecting my enemies to go down in one hit, I'm too used to other platformers like that...damn :/

Heh! Yeah, it's fun to sometimes find ways around fighting some enemies
I would always get hung up on trying to kill everything on each screen, sometimes you don't have to
It's like in Mario bros where you see that one coin just hanging there and you go for it and realize it was a trick to get you to make that jump the whole time

I do sometimes avoid some enemies to just move on, yes
but I also take too much damage from them and by the time I get to the boss, I've got no lives and half a life bar left!Β
