certainly is in better shape than my ship... of course its a few hundred years newer and is a sleek combat vessel.

Thanks...we'll techinally its a used/new ship. Bardak used this ship for a few years in the future (about 130 years or so from now). Ever since that alien attack and Bardak was stranded in this time period/dimension...its the most advanced/brand new fighter ship in the world.

Looks like a very very VERY suped-up Jet-Fighter to me. glad to see some designs can still be seen in the future.

A little idea for a design change. For better visibility you might want to raise your cockpit higher so that the pilot can see all around him, and have the stairway to the cockpit sorta approaching from below. It's a design that's common among fighters XD

atomskmaster6 In reply to startingoutfromscrat [2011-04-30 09:06:06 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm...Interesting suggestions, however I see a few errors in your ideas. Even if the cockpit was raised, the pilot (Bardak) won't be able to see behind him. That is why his ship as multiple sensors that allow him to view from many different angles and perspectives. A "stairway to the cockpit" is already there, its just the ships design that disguises it. If you'll turn your attention to the large square panel near the cockpit.

Arc Bine: That's true, yes. I agree that my writer is outdated when it comes to Hii-travel (What's the term for Hiira over here?). Some design considerations I can present you with, however...
-Better concealing of your wing-based weapons and engines. We hide our weapons inside our bodily ports; the same is true for our interstellar Hiira. The wing turrets need to be better placed and concealed to increase sustainability of firepower during a firefight. The same goes for the powerplant, which needs to be concealed within the fuselage. After all, in Hii-engagements, one needs to lower shields to fire (not like Kaphyrite fleet Hiira, save the Khas-Hiiraga long-range laser/ion artillery... (what do you call Hiiragas over here?) use shields) and the ship becomes immensely vulnerable to engine-pursuing Hiira. My own fleet has destroyed many Hiira and Hiiwe (Alright, my herald Scrat is going to translate for me: Hiiwe means Space Raiders, more specifically strike craft but can be used to describe space pirates) in the same manner- a minor attack by Khas-Hiiragas (All-facing Frigates) to force a firefight, while my main force of Arc-Hiiragas(Forward-armed Frigates) and Kaphyrites warp in within their fleet and destroy their weaponry and powerplants.

We also have a few sentience Hiira programmes that you may like to peruse in a battle. Many races whom we have aligned ourselves with in the past (for their protection) have asked us to provide their Hiira with such programmes. Some advantages include the gift of self-will, sentience and perception to your Hiira. Our clients have often thanked us, for these programmes offer accurate self-targeting for their Hiira. Perhaps you would like me to provide one?

Connie (whispering): β€œOkay, Sonny Jim, you distract Al, and Republicat, you swipe the keys to the ship and toss β€˜em to me as soon as Iβ€˜m in the cockpit…”

The odds of an advanced spacecraft from the future having keys are about as likely as you being able to fit into the pilot’s seat, Connie.

I thought I commented before this, but apparently forgot to. Yeah, given the chance, Connie’d hijack the Helios, give it a crimson paintjob, and head over to the Middle East. She wouldn’t do it out of malice, but because she genuinely believes its destructive power is being wasted. And that picture makes Bardak’s craft look good enough to be in a videogame, comic, movie, or anything else.

General Bardak: *standing behind Connie* "I'm afraid there aren't any "simple keys" to my ship. Besides, even if you somehow got onto the bridge, every control on my ship uses advanced biometrics...meaning without my DNA signature and command codes at the same time, the Helios won't go anywhere or do anything."

Connie: β€œBye-oh or not, I donβ€˜t use the metric system! And soon as I get a handwritin’ expert to forge your dee-in-aye’s signature, I’ll be back!”

Connie, you know about DNA--remember how much fun you had learning about Monica Lewinsky’s dress? And yeah, I figured the ship would have security measures along those lines.

JamesE82 In reply to atomskmaster6 [2011-01-22 21:41:51 +0000 UTC]

You know, even if that other story we tried to write never comes together, a short one featuring Connie trying to get some of Bardak’s technology would be amusing. Hypothetically, what surprises might he have in store?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

atomskmaster6 In reply to JamesE82 [2011-01-23 08:00:21 +0000 UTC]

Actually, even though I put that aside because of school and other projects, it will eventually come together. First I still have to shorten it. Maybe we could focus on a short story, this time by notes?

OK, I'll describe it to you... Bardak has *"Roll out the barrel" song plays loudly, covering my voice*...and that is exactly what kind of surprises are in store for Connie.

atomskmaster6 In reply to brad328 [2010-12-21 04:26:44 +0000 UTC]

Well space is very very enormous, though it is a bad idea to park in the middle of space, he normally parks his fighter ship on his command ship *the U.R.S.S. Trinity*

Aerodynamics are overrated. If it has enough power it could be shaped like a brick and still fly. (see U.S Space Shuttle program)
