Description
The single press of a button; the whirl of turbines coming to life; the growing intensity of the lights surrounding him; fourteen year old Daniel James Fenton, found himself staring straight into the heart of the machine as it roared to life. Panic rising to the surface, and yet frozen, unable to run as the lights nearly blinded him, engulfing him within their rays, followed by agonizing pain.

He didn’t know what had hit him. The surge of electricity that flared out of the machine tore itself through him. It was like a white hot knife had dug itself into every inch of him. The scream that left his lips had drawn the attention of every member within the house; a look of sheer horror upon their faces. The last thing he remembered seeing was his father slamming down the emergency shut of switch and his mother racing towards him before his vision faded to black. He heard the sounds of sirens, the frantic cries of his parents, his friends, until he couldn’t hear anything at all. That was the day that young Daniel died.

The above passage begins the upcoming fiction that I have been working on as of late. The title has nothing to do with the story, My Sister's Keeper, nor is it relating to some sort of Mary Sue pairing......... just no... The name revolves more around Phantom and his relation with the spirits known as Keepers (i.e. Clockwork, etc.)

Danny, within the story, is not a half ghost. But a spiritual entity known as a Spirit Eater, or Phantasm. Taken under Clockwork's wing as an apprentice (This sort of ties into the Time's Apprentice story.), Danny studies through spirit lore and the mysteries surrounding time as he travels and learns to adapt to being one of the Spirit World's 'top' predators, whether he likes it or not.

The story is a collaberative work with my friend whom owns the female character shown above; Aria, Keeper of Creation. Together, she and I have been working out the plot points of the story, and I hope to have a chapter posted soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

Aria is among the many spirits that hold the rank of Keeper. Along Clockwork, the Keeper of Time, Bathorwrick, Keeper of Dimension, Fatora, Keeper of Fate, and Thammut, the Keeper of Knowledge, etc. (I'll probably be putting out reference sheets of them as the story develops.
