Description
This is a larger version of the image uploaded with chapter 16. It's mostly a colorful sketch, working through a number of the kinks in the design concept.Overall this is the view of the Aquatic Center's main exhibit from the visitor's perspective. The underwater tunnel gives for a walkthrough of the exhibit seen through huge glass walls. The tank itself is over twenty five feet deep, hosting a huge array of sea life, including a number of naturally growing corals, it is meant to give as close to the appearance of a thriving reef as possible. As for the enclosure above, the ridges that run along the pool are held up by a superstructure similar to a pier. The posts themselves have been transformed into 'rock formations' and a few small caves to give a more natural setting. This has been Danny's home over the course of the year he's lived at the Center.

This looks amazing! It really does seem like a coral reef too, and not a tank. If I didn't know any better I'd think it was just a glass tunnel in the ocean. Definitely a tank that isn't bad for a mer.

It was the primary selling point for the Aquarium, having a lifelike exhibit. Sadly they had to keep it closed in order to maintain a safe environment for their resident mer.

It is a very large tank. And mers need a lot of wiggle room. Its why they gave up te main exhibit to hide him and why he was able to be there comfortably for so long

Wow! This is absolutely stunning! I can only imagine what a full out finished product this would look like. Like someone said previously, I did not think it was this extravagant! I've always wanted to see the full enclosure and what it looked like from above as well where Danny scratched out his letters and pictures. ❤️

Well, im trying to work on the whole design. Its still a bit tricky though. Overall the above enclosure is just a large walled in patio. Like a pool deck at a resort.

Nate has a finer eye and love for things involving nature. Its also why Danny initially mistook it for an actual reef till he found the glass.

I did imagine that, but it was a much different layout of a tank in my mind. Maybe because I haven't ever been to a super fancy aquarium before and only have zoo visits to compare to. I was imaging the tank to be large but much more square where the reef would drop off into just sand right before a wall of glass to an observation room.

What you just described was more like the holding tank he was in at first before being moved to the large exhibit. The large exhibit itself is the centerpiece for the Aquatic Center and was originally its prime jewel during their advertising before the mer was moved in. Also, Vlad did help fund its build, so it has quite a bit of flare thrown in.
