Illidan was a night elf. After he found the Skull of Gul'dan he turned into a half-demon/half-night elf, that's when he grew horns, hooves and wings. AND when he's in demon form.Also the basic skin in the game is his night elf form

I stoped playing Warcraft a time ago, but I still remember how badass is this guy. I like his story and even I think he was the main hope to stop the Scourge in The Frozen Throne.

His eyes were burned out by demon fire (Sargeras), he's technically blind but can see magic, which is everywhere. His blindness doesn't mean he can't see. It's weird I know.
