I never knew what happened to Thrall after the battle at the tree, I played WoW just to kill Arthas and barely paid attention to everything else.

I was a bit happier when I found out that the person we would be facing at the end of Pandaria, whether Horde or Alliance, is Garrosh Hellscream. In all honesty I never thought of him as a good leader. Even though I am an Alliance player I still had some respect for Thrall. He was a competent leader who wanted peace, rather than endless bloodshed. And he was actually trying to work with the Alliance to get that peace. Garrosh only wanted to kill everything in sight, and had no thoughts of making peace. That is why I think may Horde players dislike Garrosh. They feel that he is a negative light on their faction and wish to get rid of him. And to be honest, I feel the same way with Wrynn. but what can you do? XD

I think the fact that players dislike Garrosh is good character creation on Blizzard's part. The general intention of Garrosh was to divide the Horde. Some would like Garrosh's new bloodlust approach, while others would hate it. If that same feeling rubs off on players, then his character is doing something right.
Personally, I don't like him, but I understand why he is the way he is. I guess I don't understand Thralls decision to make him Warchief. I know Thrall was under a lot of pressure with the Cataclysm and he had been spending time with Garrosh since WotLK teaching him the way of the Horde, but Thrall was an incredibly wise man, anyone with half a brain could see that he was going to be a terrible leader, especially when the world went to hell in the Cataclysm. Vol'jin would seem like the wiser choice, or perhaps Cairne could have lived if he could have been Warchief, he was incredibly wise also.
While my faith in Blizzard's writing team for WoW has dropped over the expansions, I still think there is something we aren't seeing as to why Garrosh was made Warchief, or whether Garrosh isn't himself anymore. There must be something much deeper going on. Then again, I was expecting a much bigger climax to Arthas in WotLK and he died faster than I knew what happened, so who knows.

You make some very good and valid points my friend. Though I understand that Thrall was under immense pressure to help stop the cataclysm, and I understand that it needed to be apart of the plot to move into Pandaria, I still thought that Garrosh was the worst possible choice. I mean, I knew he was bad news when I saw him in WotLK, but I didn't know just how bad. Till, of course, Cata. Still, I think you're right. My thought is that somehow the old gods, the ones who caused Deathwing to break free in the first place, are some how twisting event to cause total war between the Alliance and the Horde.Basically trying to get us to kill ourselves, and make it less work for them.
I can't be sure if that is what they are cooking up, but I think time will tell. And maybe the death of Garrosh might shed some light onto things. Because you're right, Arthas' death in WotLK was extremely anti-climactic in my eyes. They could've done so much more to lead up to the end. Still, I have some high hopes for the end of Panda. Lets just hope they give us more than they did for Wrath.

I agree what you said, and I ahve a theory. Not just Thrall was under a big pressure, the whole world was, the breaking of Azeroth made everyone nuts. Thrall had to choose, and Vol'jin would have been a good choice (the best), he's very close to Thrall in thinking, but the Horde is mostly orcs, they wouldn't accept other races (I think), orcs are the superior war race still, even after the demon blood dissapeared. Thrall did everything he can to teach Garrosh to the new way (as you said), he was the only choice, a veteran war hero, and defeated Thrall in a face to face combat (and Cairne, even if it was an 'accident' that he died at the end) which showed the people that he is a strong warrior, and made Thrall look weak. A legend, his father was one of the biggest orcs in history, everyone respected him. So... I don't know what happened in the new expansion, but I think Thrall thought the rest of the leaders of the Horde will keep their eyes on Garrosh.
I still dislike him, but there was no other choice.

It's an interesting theory, although it's a shame these sort of things aren't overly addressed in WoW like they were in the offline Warcraft series. A lot of it is left to speculation, so character stories aren't really as resolved as I with they were. It's a damn shame Garrosh is going to get the boot though. In Cataclysm he had his moments where he seemed to be changing. Okay, he dropped one of his own off a cliff, with a very memorable punchline, I have to say, but he showed compassion towards the Alliance civilians who died and the Tauren who were killed. I was hoping he'd perhaps become a more likable character as the story went on and less of a brash character. Clearly not though.
It shouldn't really matter to me though, since I stopped playing mid-Cataclysm. I'm quite sad for trying to follow the story, now that I look at it.

"Thrall All!"
When i first heard that i thought they were just enthusiastic about enslaving everything. I was totally on-board with that. In time i came to appreciate its true meaning with much vigor.
There is a lot of hate for Thrall, but WoW fans hate everything about WoW. I for one, fight for the vision of our old Warchief.
