in the Warhammer 40k universe, xenos is anything that is non-human (Orks, Eldar, Necron, those kind of things).

But I was talking about how it kinda looks like something from that universe: Big, hulking, and violent looking.

Only for them, they are an alien race from space, crashed into the planet and try to survive on this world's resources (they basically can't find anything on this world they used before)

Nice! it really gives a different view of the whole universe then, the planet/world where Winoxish takes place isn't alone, in some kind of way

Indeed. The teck are no threat to the locals though, their technology cannot be shared and they don't want to, they occasionally trade some old technology with the 'nomads', like mining machines. They lost everything they had and they found themselves on an alien planet, they need to get every information possible, and start to develop new technology with the resources they can find here.
