I kind of made the comic because I actually get sick of the series making Jaune/Weiss jokes, so I draw Jaune/Neptune jokes to make myself feel better |D

he's part of a line of heroes. how WEISS knew nothing of him i have no idea given how big a deal he made out of it. admittedly he was a novice when he arrived at beacon but he's improved.

That's jaune, JOAN OF ARC (in french Jeanne d'Arc) was a religios peasant girl who initiated a religious crusade to reclaim french territory against the english men and succeded.
Speaking of jaune he may have a hero lineage, but tell me, do you know any famous hero who has a hero lineage? and no wiki pls, maybe some locals know and some family friends but at global scale?...nope, the heros had his time of glory, the desendants...not necessarily, jaune want to be a hero because of his lineage not because his family are a bunch of baddases, my head canon is that crosea mors was only a wall decoration, a family treasure because of the historical value and Jaune is the first hunter in training of his family in a long time.

well i don't know much on joan but i'm guessing her being a peasant might of been inspiration for why he seems so average in comparison to everyone else. and remnant is a world were heroes still exist and when jaune was listing off family members who'd been hero's he mentioned HIS DAD. meaning his dad is a huntsman and probably a good one at that by how bad jaune feels about his inability to be a hero. and that he's the LATEST in that line of heroes so he probably feel some pressure

i've seen avatar and its awesome by the way, but wasn't sokka's dad a warrior maybe chief (i can't remember) and his mother was the LAST WATERBENDER OF THE SOUTHERN TRIBE. plus while he's not a bender himself he's managed well enough and the Gaang probably would be literally (he's the only one who can read a map) an figuratively given he has the non-bending skills like hunting,fishing , and strategy as well as creating useful gadgets since he perfected a HOT AIR BALLOON. sokka may be the most normal but he's still exceptional in normal skills

they probably were but the rest of the Gaang's parents were probably benders given sokka's mom was at least, though it could be a trait that can reappear over generations or something. if you were talking about jaune then well he himself is under similar circumstances

Jaune is sokka because 1 he is dorky (intentional or not), 2 hes has at least a little bit more common sense than others (in occasions), 3 he can do tactics, 4 he was a civilian with big dreams, 5 he had insecurities and low self-esteem.

well yes i'm not denying that at all but there still kinda special among there groups though for different reasons. jaune has a large amount of aura and is a much better strategist when he has to be while sokka is also a strategist but he's COMPLETELY NORMAL at least in terms of bending. in terms of skill he can use a boomerang well enough to hit a guy he couldn't even see, was trained by a master swordsman, and has multiple skills the others don't have like reading a map or engineering (to understand the fire nation machines). i'm just saying jaune isn't exactly an average civilian and you can't say sokka is, he just is in comparison to MASTERS OF ELEMENTAL FURY.

Well I used the word because now on the internet, "pleb" is slang to refer someone as "basic" or a "peasant" and Weiss is kind of a "better than you" type character
